Exclamation Preason Game #2 vs Montreal Canadiens

    [boooo! hisssss!]

Ok, ok, calm down...tough crowd and it's only a preseason game.

Bringing out the big guns tonight! ...and look for Adam being moved off the "kids" line and instead centering Boyes and Gerbe. A little change up for the top prospect to see if he can ramp it up and keep up with the big boys.

This will be one to watch for all Myers owners too. It will be his first game paired up w/ newly acquired Regehr. Hot damn!!

You'll have to excuse my enthusiasm. It's sometimes hard to stay objective when ya got new toys on the ice.

    Anywhooooo....

    Lines are looking like
    Vanek - Roy - Pommer
    Ennis - Leino - Stafford
    Boyes - Adam - Gerbe
    Foligno - Ellis - Kassian

Regehr, Ehrhoff, Myers, Gragnani, Schiestel and Persson will be the defenders
With the dynamic duo of Miller/Enroth in net.

Keep in mind when looking at these line combos for the next few games, there will be trades (attempted at least) to get under.

    Should be a fun one!

    Holy velocity, Batman!!

Ehrhoff has quite the wrister from the point....damn. Ehrhoff, Ennis, and Pommer all get on the board as the Sabres take down the Canadiens in last night's preseason game.

Was not able to view it but I've heard and read that Ehrhoff/Gragnani made a for a nice couple. Very interesting combo if ya ask me. A sign of first unit PP to come...perhaps. Still difficult to determine at this point. Ruff is assessing different combos on all lines at this point, and lord only knows what's bouncing around in that dome of his. Not to mention the whole cap thing.

Speaking of Cap....now I'm starting to wonder if Leopold gets moved. Just a thought.

Good to see Pommer score....been down on him (stat-wise) this off season what w/the acquisition of Leino. But I think he holds nice value in larger, multi-cat leagues w/ positionals. Maybe even nice depth guy in 12+ team, points only leagues.

Ennis...so glad I own him in at least one league. That kid is something. Leino assists on Ennis' goal.

Miller and Enroth had nice games. More important for Enroth than Miller - for obvious reasons - so that's good to see.

    That's all for now.

Alright, nothing like a televised Sabres game vs the Leafs to relieve my mind of my recent UHL woes (and a shit load of beer).

    Lines are looking thusly:
    Vanek-Roy-Pominville
    Gerbe-Gaustad-Kaleta
    Stuart-McCormick-Boyes
    Ryan-Ellis-Tropp

    Leopold- Ehrhoff
    McNabb-Weber
    Gragnani-Brennan

    Ryan Miller
    Drew MacIntyre

Excited to see McNabb play. I have him high (maybe too high) on my prospect list for multi-cat leagues. Other notables worth a long term look are Brennan and Tropp.

Easin' on down to Rochester are:

Riley Boychuk, Jacob Lagace, Maxime Legault, Shawn Szydlowski, Travis Turnbull and Mark Voakes; defensemen Alex Biega, Nick Crawford, Corey Fienhage and Matt MacKenzie; and Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis.

Yepper...I was just about to post that. The infamously ever vague upper body injury.

Trying to stay optimistic about it, but man...

Jeebus, TK, tell yo boys to half-dose the 'roids. No need to pile-on Miller, it's only a pre-season game, brother.

...and another Sabre win (thanks to Miller on that one)

Ok, first, an update on Roy. Day-to-day w/ a shoulder strain, is being reported. Ruff hopes he heals in time for the final preseason game, later next week.

Enroth in net tonight for the second meeting w/ the Leafs. Roster is set as follows:

Cody McCormick, Drew Stafford, Brad Boyes, Ville Leino, Thomas Vanek, Paul Gaustad, Patrick Kaleta, Matt Ellis, Nathan Gerbe, Zack Kassian, Tyler Ennis, Luke Adam, Corey Tropp and Marcus Foligno

Jordan Leopold, Christian Ehrhoff, Marc-Andre Gragnani, Robyn Regehr, Andrej Sekera, Tyler Myers and Brayden McNabb

    Jhonas Enroth, Drew MacIntyre

Really loved seeing Tropp and McNabb play last night. Pommer w/ another goal, and damn....Gerbe is short, but his calf muscles are like tree trunks.
