Here is that nugget that suggests Zads will play in the NHL this year. From
What ive read it looks like his offensive game is developing but still an unknown.
Dale Hunter on Horvat, Zadorov, Domi: "They (their NHL teams) have them pegged in to play (this year). That's great for them."

Zadorov has great multi-cat appeal, and more offense than given credit for...not huge mind you, just more.

worst "big announcement" ever

Who is the next captain? Lots of young players now.
Is Gionta the defacto option?

A look at Nikita Zadorov's situation early this season with the sabres.
http://tipofthetower.com/2014/10/22/...ertain-future/
Nolan has indicated that Z is almost too eager which translates to trying to do too much on the ice. Nolan has insisted that Z's work ethic and attitude are unquestioned, only that he needs to focus on streamlining his game.
If Zadorov stays patient, plays out another year in Rochester he could be a wrecking ball for the Sabres defense for a long time to come. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the Sabres are in no hurry to hurry any of their youngin's into a full time role. The new regime also isn't known to capitulate to demands, so if Zadorov refuses to sit tight his other options would be to wait until this year's trade deadline to see if he's moved as part of a package deal, or join the KHL flight academy.
I hope he stays.
@SmittysRant
Reinhart has been sent to his Junior team. Also, it seems Murray is keeping hold of Zadorov out of concern that if sent to the Knights, Z could bolt to the KHL, or the CHL could claim Z is their property. It's a mess, simply put.
@SmittysRant
What player will Girgensons become? Compare him to someone for me. Multi-category pool that counts hits (.2 value), blocks (.2) and PIM's (.2) as well.

His value will be very high in multi cat leagues, and even higher in roto leagues due to production across stats. He's going to be a second line power forward who will eat up a ton of ice time especially on PP, PK, and late in games to preserve leads. 60pts, 90 PIM, 150+ Hits.
The PIM noted above is probably peak. He is not a fighter per se, but will scrap and should have to due to punishing checks and their ability to piss people off. Hits will be his strongest cat so the hits noted above are conservative. SOG and +/- will be strong as well. He should easily be around 200 hits yearly. In addition to special team points, and he will be good for FOW as well (long term).
As far as comparable player....ideally he grows into a David Backes but that will take time and more skilled players around him. Right now he's a Wayne Simmonds with a higher ceiling.
