The Leafs have ruined my chances at 1st place in all my leagues. I took 0 and almost everyone in my leagues are from the Toronto area so all of them are taken. Can they stop *$#^$*$ scoring so much! Thanks!

Ya dude, kinda crazy. Looks like the Leafs will get 4 20+ scorers (Kessel and Lupul already are, Grabo and Macarthur close). Offense hasn't been an issue this year.

I jumped all over Gus a couple of weeks ago too. Can't seem to buy a break when it comes to Toronto!

Kessel sure is making up for not scoring the past 3 games before Saturday.

Was afraid my jersey wouldn't mean much no more lol.

    29 goals, 57 points in 53 games.

He had 30 goals and 55 points in his first year here. In considerably more then 53 games.

    Seguin who?

Only 3 games in the NHL tonight probably has something to do with that as well. Plus, it's Toronto, they probably have that many "execs" every game

    Victory! Quick-time notes:

-Reimer let in one bad goal, but he was very solid throughout

    -The Defence sucked. A lot.

    - Phaneuf started the chain of terrible defence 20 seconds in. Schenn was irresponsible for the most part. As was Liles.

    - Schenn did save a goal with minimal time remaining by diving to stop it.

    - Cam Barker is now a Maple Leaf (I think). 2 goals were his fault and his fault only.

    - Best defenders tonight? Gardiner and Franson.

    - Connolly was invisible (minus one pass and one shot that he hit wide).

    - Lombardi has wicked speed, but couldn't finish.

    - The 4th line is awesome. Welcome back, Colby.

    - Lupul's no longer slumping!

    - Same can be said for Kessel. Now has 29 goals, 57 points in 53 games.

    - Never trade Grabo...ever.

    - Macarthur played solid, but is completely replaceable in my opinion. Grabovski is making him a 20 goal scorer.

    Kessel hits 30 already?

And there are still 29 games to spare?

Guess who's kicking down those career highs with a sledge hammer.

Leafs Random Fact of the Day:

Matthew Lombardi was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 3rd round of the 2002 draft. The pick used to draft him was traded to the Flames by the Leafs prior to the draft. Kinda thought it was interesting that he was drafted using a Toronto Pick though!

    That was interesting.

In other news... the NHL finally confirmed it's Leafs vs Detroit for next years Winter classic.

In other news, HBO's special (if it happens) will hook me more then coke to a coke addict.

Does anyone know if Sundin's number is actually being retired or is it just being honoured? I'm reading articles, and they make really quick mentions of his number being retired, but then they almost only say his number is being raised to the rafters which doesn't necessarily mean that his number is being retired. As well, the Leafs rarely ever retire numbers...

I don't think any number is retired by the Leafs haha. I think it's just getting raised to the rafters, but not sure.

Don't have a source but yeah, basically the same they do with every other player. Just honouring his number without retiring it.

If they did retire numbers, there would hardly be any left.

According to this Wiki page (I know, I know... but its something) the Leafs have retired two numbers in the history of the franchise, #5 for Ace Bailey and #6 Bill Barilko. However, if you scroll down the list they have honoured 16 players (some of which share the same number). Seems that the Leafs are the only franchise to do this as well.

Wow, @mirtle reporting the Leafs moving Tim Connolly to the wing.

    Piss of Rosehill.

The guy spends his entire year in the press-box and injured Gunnarsson today in practice.

    Shit.
