Komisarek is likely not moving, unfortunately. The front office and coaching staff love what he brings to the team off the ice, and are insisting that he has improved his game.

Okay guys, with the preseason finished, and only a few days until the puck drops to start the Leafs' season, I have a couple questions for you guys:

    1) Who gets sent down to the minors from the remaining forwards?

    2) How is this crowded blue line dilemma solved?

    3) Who fills in the 2nd line RW spot for the Leafs' first two games?

    4) Final predictions...playoffs or not? What is it contingent on?

Feel free to answer any/some of these questions.

If you want to ask me (or the public) a question, just post it below.

    Cheers,

    Tyler

Or 2nd line C with Grabovski hurt it seems.

    1) Boyce I think would leave us at 13, no?

    2) Lashoff demoted, trade opening up in around November/one of the younger D gets demoted. Keep 8 until then.

    3) Frattin probably my guess. Give him a solid look with productive linemates.

    4) Playoffs contingent on a relative health of the top players (MGK, Kessel, Liles, Phaneuf, etc...) and a solid (not necessarily matching last years numbers, but a similar level of play) goaltending from Reimer.

So more cuts today - the important ones among them are Aulie and Boyce/Crabb. Lashoff and Zigomantis were laso sent down. All but Aulie and Zigomantis (I believe because he already has) have to clear waivers.

The Aulie demotion is not so surprising considering Gardiner's play in the preseason and the fact that he and Komisarek play a similar styled game (to different effectiveness, I will admit). And his two-way contract and waiver exemption helps a tad.

Thanks for the help dude, really appreciated during this hectic period of life

But ya, Gardiner is a prime example of "play for your roster spot". Deserving exactly what he gets. Aulie should benefit from time in the AHL, and come up even stronger.

Happy Dupuis got a spot on the team, will be a nice addition if any injuries suddenly arise.

So I have to settle for "during TK's hectic times" :P

I don't mind. But my post count does...

things get busy dude, it's nice to have another person helping me out.

I'll be posting my recap of game 1 either late thursday or friday afternoon, so don't be confused if it's not up immediately. My thoughts will still be put here!

Leafs made a fairly minor trade today, acquiring Dave Steckel for a 4th rounder in 2012. Solid signing for the price.

Could possibly see more happening, stay glued to twitter or TSN in case more arises from this.

Like we didn't already have enough competition to begin with lol.

We probably need to ship a defenceman + a bottom 6'er out somewhere soon. Either way, he should help in the face-off dot.

Bozak and Gunnarsson would be a pretty likely duo to be packaged, no?

Steckel on the PK will be huge. Can't remember the last time the Leafs had a legitimate "clutch" faceoff man that could kill PKs

Does anyone have a sense of what the hell is wrong with Connolly?

I ask as someone who is a Leafs fan and also someone who took him as a 3rd centre in a fairly deep draft.

He missed the few last pre-season games with a "minor upper body injury" of sorts I think.

He might have been placed on the 7 day IR.

Not sure though, will confirm when I know.
