Marleau got his 100th GWG last night, wonder how many many Leafs have less career goals than Marleau has GWG

Leivo obviously still needs to do more. That and not playing Polak in B2B games is likely due in part to his recovery & trying to not over stress his leg. I imagine he's still going through some recovery

Well Leivo played like 12:28, 17shifts (2^nd lowest) without registering a shot with a negative CorsiRel%. I can’t say how he played because I didn’t see the game, I watch snippets of the 1^st period, and didn’t really notice him. They play the Kings tonight, where Polak might be “better suited in Babs eyes” for the bigger Kings lineup.

But I’m with you, they should have kept Leivo and Carrick in.

Babs doesn't need to get this right, now. he needs to get the line up right come April .. right?

Not a great game for Leivo at ES but definitely noticed him on the PP last night. I am with the majority here as far as thinking he should be eventually in the lineup but I can understand putting Kappy in tonight - it's not like Leivo had a monster game.

I feel like the Polak/Carrick swap is not a huge upgrade/downgrade either way so I am not worried as it hopefully keeps them motivated and sharp.

These are good problems to have though - big picture. This should give Lou confidence he can move a decent forward if the opportunity arises.

anyone else get the feeling Tor has a couple leads on deals but pulling the trigger's been set aside due to all the injuries to those teams deep on D?

Anyone find it funny that we all say, "it's not fair for Leivo not getting minutes when PLAYER-A isn't playing well", then we ignore Kapanen? Maybe not ignore but in our mind hierarchy it's Leivo, then Kapanen

Anyone know if Leivo is doing EXTRA work off the ice? Is he the 1st one to arrive, last to leave? If I'm fighting for a roster spot. I'm now doing more than anyone else on that roster. I want to be noticed while Babs is sleeping. I dunno? but that would make strides for Leivo I would think

True, very true. But at least Kappy has been seasoning well in the minors and playing good minutes there.
I feel bad for Leivo because when he's not in the lineup, he's watching. Best case scenario, that's stagnant for his development.

I wonder who has a higher trade value.

Leivo, highly regarded as a victim of the Leafs depth, and is a 2nd or 3rd liner right now, even with limited NHL experience
Kapanen, former 1st rounder. Shows flashes of his speed, size, shot, and vision. Fully rounded game, AHL stats to back it up.

Who would be regarded as the better player....
