You should of seen the play where Couture jumped up to snag a puck Backstrom tried to shoot around from behind his net, set up Havlat for an easy empty net goal.

Broadcasters kept mentioning how he loves baseball.

I have Nieimi and picked up Marleau and Boyle at the deadline. Glad they are doing well, especially Niemi (also started Rask who hasn't got a start all week)

ON a purely fun note, I got a call from the Sharks saying I won a Brent Burns signed puck. So that was a boost to my day. Great way to start the weekend.

To anyone watching the Sharks' game.....THAT is how you shoot the puck from the point!

Two quick, mid wind up shots that result in goals for the Sharks. Brad Stuart must be pulling for the Wings cuz he got that one off quick!

I'm loving how they went clutch there. The Big Pavelski and Couture for the win. Loved it. The young guys are the true leaders of this team.

So Vancouver is the matchup the Sharks get. Most analyst and fans alike will choose the Canucks over the Sharks. Even so, the Sharks beat them all 3 games this season they played. Only 1 was a shootout win. All were close games except for the 4-1 win.

Vancouver fans think they have way more size on the Sharks. That might be so, but the Sharks have big guys who can play. Not to mention, Raffi Torres might come out of his safe play closet and take a head off or two. I don't want him to be dirty, but he'll hit a ton. Niemi could steal a game or two and that would make the difference.

Honestly, I think the Sharks win this in 6. In years past, i probably would have taken the 'Nucks, but for some reason I just have a gut feeling on the Sharks kicking it into high gear this year. I think Pavelski, Burns, Couture, and Torres are the guys that are going to do serious damage on the scoresheet and guys like Marleau and Thornton will be the secondary guys.

I don't think Kesler or Roy were in those 3 games were they? Vancouver is a whole different team with a those two in the line up.

Sadly, I don't think I'll get to catch the first game. Actually, I know I won't. Have family night with the wife's family and we're celebrating my wife's birthday early. My in-laws don't get NBCSN. BLEEP BLEEP BLEEEP!!!!! I love my wife. I really do.

I can only hope. The Kings are going to be tough, but I'm still riding the Sharks to win this. It won't be a sweep, but I think the Sharks can pull this off.

I had predicted that Burns would be a force in the last series and was off on that. Looking at the numbers, he had 8 points in 4 games against the Kings in the regular season, so this might be the series where he is the hero.

The big thing is if the other guys are performing a la Couture, Pavelski, Boyle, Burns, then Marleau and Thornton will have better opportunities to do good things. Would be interesting if Havlat comes back at some point in the series. I still have no clue how he got injured.

Strong game by Thornton last night.

Looks like Torres blew it again, they need him against the Kings.

They do need him. They had that game, but lost it with those 2 penalties. So being worn out cost them in the end. I am still curious if that Delay of Game puck went off of Carter arm. Can't review it though. Just a sucky way to lose and I wouldn't be shocked if the team is demoralized because of it. Then again, LA did come back and take 4 straight to beat St. Louis. A guy can hope. These games have been close and since the Sharks did score 3. They know the can so hopefully they find a way to make things work.

Scott Gomez did pretty well on the 3rd line with 2 assists. He did have his defensive lapses, but that's expected.

    Gomez is playing well, IMO.

Glad to see the whistles turn in the sharks favor last game, Couture is clutch!
