I'm wondering the same thing. ESPN already has him for some reason, they never adjust players in their system- I'm pretty sure Jagr is still in there

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
He's not still owned by the Sharks? Correct? He was a FA when they let him walk, right?
@SmittysRant
No real sources, just stuff posted on a few forums. The first I heard was from a friend and then i saw it in the comments on tsn.ca so nothing real.

I'm pretty sure his wife Tabitha was born in North America.. The kids were definitely born here and they didn't speak any russian before they moved... I would understand if all of this may be a factor.

So, what needs to be done for Nabakov to be onto Yahoo leagues? Does he need to be signed?

LW- T.Hall/B.Rust(lw)/N.Hoglander
RW - J.Guentzel(lw)/ T.Tatar(lw)/J.Pulujaarvi/K.Kapanen(lw)
D - B.Burns/E.Karlsson/M.Heiskanen/J.Carlson
G - I.Sorokin/I.Shesterkin/T.Demko/C.Peterson/C.Talbot
Farm - C.Primeau/P.Kochetov/C.Caufield/E.Svechnikov
One thing to keep in mind is that if a team decides to place a waiver claim on Nabakov, they will have to pay whatever contract was negotiated. One way the Bolts could "increase" their chances are by signing him to a larger dollar figure. This would do two things, 1) require the team making the claim to have the cap space, or be willing to eat money and 2) potentially reduces his trade value at the dead line as teams like the Flyers, Caps, etc are all up against the salary cap already and may have trouble fitting him in under the restraint of the cap.
Also, I think the reason Nabby needs to clear waivers even with his FA status is due to the fact that he was signed to a contract in another league when the season began. I think this was mused about last year when Jagr started talking about coming back.

I'm in a CBS league and thankfully the database keeps players that were at least in the NHL last year. Rob Blake and guys like that are still in the system. So obviously I picked him up. Washington would be such an unreal boost for his value.

pretty happy I was able to snap him up in my fantrax league"Nothing serious happened,"... Nabokov is expected to leave for the States on the "next available flight," according to Isakov. Nabokov's family left Russia a few days ago. Nabokov's wife is American and his children were born in the United States...It is quite possible that his family could never truly adjust to life in Russia...

I'm also readin' that he does need to clear waivers once a team signs him (which seems a little bass-ackwards). I'm still not clear on the reasoning, since he was a UFA and allowed to walk.
@SmittysRant
right, which means its in both nabby's and the signing team's interest (Tampa??) to make it a decent dollar amount, to keep cap constrained teams from grabbing him or bottom feeders from grabbing him in hopes to trade him to those cap constrained teams at the deadline.
I posted this elsewhere:
