This situation is arguably more ridiculous than the Decision. At least Lebron had proven how good he was going into that silly scene.

If an hour long tv show would end the gongshow, I'm all for it. I mean, it's bad enough that we're probably going to have to wait until Sunday for any Detroit news, but do we really have to endure Calgary making another bad decision AND some unproven youngster with his five chosen suitors lavishing praises upon him and groveling at his feet too?

Right now, he's the backup for Detroit. I'd say that it could very well be someone else.

They could sign a guy like Al Montoya or Scott Clemmensen to upgrade there.

IIRC some of what I've read by George Malik, Holland has stated that a new backup is one of Detroit's FA targets.

Joey Mac did a great job before the injury last season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a backup signed.

Jordin Tootoo has signed a three-year deal with the Wings and Mikael Samuelsson rejoins Detroit on a two-year deal.

As Malik says: A trade has to be coming. These guys all replace Emmerton, Mursak, Homer, Kindl and Conklin. Still too many guys because more will be coming and Detroit will be spending to the cap according to Devellano.

Sentium, I was thinking the same thing all night. Are they going to make a run at Nash if they don't land Parise? I'd really hate to see Nyquist either dealt or given a limited role again.

Since Howson has been rumored to be asking the world in exchange for Nash, any chance a trade with Anaheim to land Bobby Ryan would be a possibility?
