I was thinking about this. Do they slide this far if they have real veteran leadership on that team? Like a Nick Folgino or Corey Perry. They don't have any of that. And I am sorry to me and it not be true but Draisatil seems like a toxic baby. His interviews are brtual.

Come on I hardly call any of those guys vet's with leadership. No Cups between them and the guy with the most experience pretty much had the most off ice issues out of any player in the league before coming to Edmonton.

Do you think Corey Perry is going into that locker room and fixing anything? Leadership in that locker room lies on the guys I listed. If the fix to the issue is Perry going "come on guys, I won cups, lets do things right" .... the locker room is already gone on Woodcroft and the guys listed above have no weight in what they say.

4th line veteran presence isn't fixing the issues in Edmonton. Top paid players aren't playing defensively, but can't win without their offense and the coach can't sit the top guys right now as it's too far gone. What's more effective than an old guy who is new in the locker room saying "come on guys" is the coach sitting McDavid and saying "this guy isn't playing well, everyone is being held accountable, paychecks aren't saving you".

But they need McDavid to win games.

The Oilers issues are deep, but can be plugged up quickly in goaltending, and the PP doing better.

Corey Perry has 1 Cup 16years ago btw. Tons of playoff games, but are we saying Stanley Cup playoff games mean anything for what the Oilers are going through?

Edmonton media is a collective of toxic babies. Draisaitl gives them the exact amount of respect they deserve, which is zero. Edmonton media is also the reason I’m close to certain Drai is gone after this contract. He (deservedly) hates them.

This start is just so baffling.
Connor Brown in is the only real roster adjustment and yet the team went from below average D to can't do anything.
More surprisingly they completely forgot how to score.

Woodcroft has to get fired today, I do not see any other outcome. Such a bizarre fall from grace.
Interested to see what coach they can bring in to replace Woodcroft and what he might do to turn the team around.

I don't think anyone wants to see a coaching change or is ever happy about it, but there has to be a reason why it happens and why we're here at this point. What part of that is confusing?
