Cant believe people are whining about Taylor Hall being mildly boo'd.
Welcome to sports. This is not a new thing with ex-players. The fans cheered him last season in his first game back.

Anyways, teams a mess. But its fixable. We just need Connor and Talbot to be the 2 best players in the world in there position again. Not asking too much?
Seriously tho a move needs to be made. Id honestly be shopping Maroon for someone quicker, we cant afford this guy long-term with the way he gets easy points off Connor. Sure I'd rather Maroon at 4.5/per, then Lucic at 6, but that ships sailed, we cant have both.
In the short term, Yamamoto should be sent down, put someone else on waivers, take your pick from Khaira and Pakarinen and call-up B.Malone and Puljujarvi. Sink or swim Jesse.

Just speculating, no source or inside information (apparently that's important to clarify each time ).
Can this team honestly afford to fire another coach? Can't keep letting the players off the hook every time.

You're absolutely right about them going through too many coaches already but what can they do anymore? They already tried dumping Hall and Eberle, and apparently that didn't work either. RNH would be next but he's been one of their best players so far, so they can't really do that either. Who else could they trade? Maybe Nurse but I'm not sure they could get enough value for him right now.

Agreed. I dont believe firing the coach is the right move and I dont even wanna have discussions about it.
    The people to blame in order are;
    The players,
    The GM,
    The coach.

I didnt say coaches tho, plural, cause i think our assistant coach Jay Woodcroft, who runs the special teams, could be replaced. Not calling for his head right now, but if something has to be done in the short-term, other then roster moves, thats the move I make. Doubt Todd would go for it tho they have a lot of history together.

I could see Tor paying through the nose to get a guy like Nurse on that back end. They've got wingers to spare

Management needs to have a meeting with the players and tell them that there won't be anymore changes so work through it. If they want success, they know how to get it. They proved that last year. They could bring up Puljujarvi to see if that move works.

1 goal, 5 points in 10 games with 31 shots. I don't really see how Pulju has earned a call up anyways.

Lines for tonight's game as per Bob Stauffer

    Maroon-McDavid-Draisaitl
    Lucic-RNH-Slepyshev
    Jokinen-Strome-Caggiula
    Pakarinen-Letestu-Kassian

The last game they had these lines, they scored 6 goals. Hopefully, it works again tonight as the Oilers are in dire need of a win.

Didn't they have almost the same lines when they scored 0 goals against Detroit? I doubt replacing Yamamoto with Slepyshev makes that big of a difference...

That lineup, or anything close to it, should not have problems scoring. I haven't been watching Edmonton games, but unless they've looked atrocious (which would speak to a lot more than line combos, or particular players) the goals will come.

It depends which period you are talking about! McLellan pulled out the blender about 1/2 way through the game as the Oilers were so bad. I also chose to look at it with my rose colored glasses in hopes that the Oilers can start scoring goals regularly.

Edmonton really needs Draisaitl to start carrying his own line. Whether thats on McLellan or on Drai, I dunno.
