Helps that they're out of conference as well. I've heard rumours of him moving somewhere else in the East, but it just seems more likely to me for him to be moved out West (same with Nash). LA, San Jose, or possibly even Dallas seem likelier landing spots to me.

I said a while back he'd be a good fit on the Pens - fill their 3rd line center spot. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick...

Jesus, if Eller goes for two 2nd rounders, I would hope Plucky certainly does. He's still a pretty good player. I could see him being very effective in a limited role.

Eller went for more because he's younger and there were still teams hoping he had the ability to flourish offensively. Plus he wasn't a rental.

It'd be similar to Kessel moving to Pittsburgh. Get the spotlight off of him, make him the secondary piece for scoring (not to mention for defensive matchups), and he'll have a much easier time producing. Just depends if there's a suitor out there who can not only pay the price for him, but put him in that position to really turn it up a notch.

Edit: Just re-read that. Not implying he's anywhere close to the same type of player Kessel is, just that the situation seemed similar, i.e. a player needing a chance to see lower-quality matchups to be more successful.

You're right about the rental...but I think the offensive flourishing debate is settled........ I would still argue Pluck gives you way more in 2 months than Eller gives in two years....

That's all fine but the trade is done between the two teams and we have the benefit of hindsight.

I posted it in the injury forum too but Weber has resumed skating on his own. Perhaps a few weeks more?

    What a horrendous trade......

McGuire (yes, I know....) was saying yesterday his trade value was so low due to his contract and declining effectiveness. The Habs will never trade him anyway, but boy, what a declining asset.

    Je suis triste.

Weber is with the team on the 4 game road trip. As long as he keeps pumping out 45+pt, 200+ sog/h/blks Seasons, I don't really much care for his effectiveness on the ice. it's all about fantasy domination
