    just to confirm

Nikita Scherbak (lower body) won't play against the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
Scherbak suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's loss to the Kings and he didn't participate in Saturday's morning skate. The Canadiens didn't provide an update on his status, but he's considered day-to-day at this point. Oct 28 - 11:49 AM

Martin Reway on unconditional waivers. He missed all of last year due to illness and is leaving the organization after a handful of games this year in the AHL. ]

Apparently his option was to accept a demotion to the ECHL or go back to Europe. He'll probably sign with a European team but based on his results this year I'd say he's a good while away from playing at a high level. Health can take a long time to rebound after what he went through.

Good win for the Habs tonight. The defence still doesn't look right, but it's good they are scoring goals.

It would be understandable, but the difference has been noticeable between this season and last, not since his injury. If he can keep up the play of last season, minus that dip around February, they're golden.

He almost always has a dip after Christmas. The only time I can remember where he didn't was the year he won the Hart.

He was never a great offensive weapon in junior so I don't expect great offensive numbers in the NHL. That's how I see it. Strong two-way player with inconsistent offense. Probably better as a trade chip right now than as a guy you stash waiting for him to deliver.

I applied the same logic to Mike Matheson. Despite his skating and puck-moving abilities he never dominated the college or AHL ranks offensively. So far he's not close to justifying the hype fantasy-wise with 18 points in 95 NHL games.

Of course anything can happen 5-6 years down the line so I'm not going to bother thinking that far ahead. I'm thinking within a reasonable time-frame that applies to current fantasy leagues.

All the big guns noted that possibility, McKenzie, Dreger, etc. they're all reacting to Sather and other Rangers personnel attending two Habs games in a row, so speculating in who might be involved.
