Andrighetto on waivers. I'm actually surprised. I know he got beat by Lehkonen and Carr but I thought they'd find a way to keep him on the roster

Am I the only one who was a little disappointed by the Habs in that OT? We dumped the puck at least 3 or 4 times. Just terrible puck management. We seemed content to defend and just hope for a mistake and an odd man rush. The Habs never installed themselves in the Ottawa zone for longer than 10 seconds. Just terrible all around.

And Therrien already juggling the lines. Ugh!

Therrien thinks playing Bingo between periods is a good team bonding exercise.

Seriously, I don't get it. Wayyyy too much play on personnel and not on systems IMO. I like the Habs as a team although I feel they lack a piece or 2 to be great but I am not a fan of how the team is coached.

I mentioned this to my wife last night while watching the OT. Why dump it in? It's 3-on-3! Puck possession is so important in OT. If it's time for a line change, simply skate out of the zone, let two guys change, pass it to them and go yourself.

To me, that's a coaching thing. Therrien has to be on them to never give up the puck in OT.

The other thing is that I was pretty disappointed in MaxPac in the third and OT as well. He seemed lackluster to me.

Perhaps. But I figured he'd be coming into the season more gung ho after this past summer where rumours had him playing a big role in the Subban trade, being called out at the world cup of hockey and rumours of his coach calling him the worst captain in Habs history.

His play last year didn't indicate he was all that bothered by the collapse. He was good but didn't go above and beyond on the ice to try to spark the team.

Ironically, the Habs jinxed themselves this year by making a special embossed Opening Night ticket portraying Price vs Crosby on it. Hopefully Condon gets the start for the Pens to get some sort of emotion going...

Would it be better if the team just featured Scott Gomez on everything?

Is it time to retire Price's jersey number and move on with Montoya?

I was at the game yesterday and it was really weird watching the game; it felt like it was Price in the crease. I don't know how to explain it other than I felt confident that the goalie in place was going to save the puck on pretty much every given shot; the same feeling I get when Price is in nets.

I said it in a previous post, but any new goalie that becomes the Habs starter has some mysterious energy lingering over them, almost making them better than they actually are. Montoya is a good goalie and was a promising prospect that just never really had a chance to fully showcase his talent. I'm glad he is on our squad; it will add that extra insurance when Price gets back.
