No. No hype. Zero hype at all....only thing I want to get hyped about is more losses. The glory hype-train left the station a long time ago.

Tom Parisi, Providence (defenseman) -- A strong skater who plays against plenty of top-end forwards in Hockey East, Parisi has made strides in his junior season, when many college hockey players take the next step. He has set career-highs in assists (13) and points (16) this season, showing some offensive growth. He's not a flashy defenseman but always seems to make the right first-pass exiting the zone and rarely makes the big mistake.

As we near the end of the season, any thoughts on what the Habs need to do this summer?

Top of my list: New coach, top-six player, better backup goalie.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

I don't think Condon is a start but he's capable backup goalie IMO. He's gotten much better over the course of the season as per my eye-test :P

I agree that priority #1 is a new coach. It's time.
I would modify your second priority. Top six players. Habs only have 4 top6 players IMO. Paciorrety, Galchenyuk,Gallagher,Plekanec.

    1) Fire Therrein (captain obvious)
    2) build defensive depth
    3) top 6 RW

to accomplish #2/#3, would hopefully result in moving out Plekanec or Desharnais

Defensive depth is there I think.

What I want is a top4 on D of Subban-Petry-Beaulieu-Markov. Let Barberio-Pateryn-Emelin-Ellis-Dietz and whoever fight for the last spots.

Scrivens will go on waivers today. Lindgren will back up Condon.

Acquire some top end offensive talent is No. 1 priority. De La Rose can do the #3C job. We have a plethora of 4th liners. Our bottom six is fine. We need some more legit help in the top 6. Max Pac is very streaky. Galch is still growing and still hasn't shown me the "it" factor. I wonder if Carr can become a player. We need another impact guy in the top 6. I don't care if he plays W or C we just need some game-breaking talent there. I think Condon will be fine as the backup to a healthy Price next year. The D is adequate. Not fantastic or flashy, but adequate.

We need a new coach. I'm not sure if there is one that could make the diff, but we need one.
