If there's a fourth-line available, rest assured Bergevin will try to trade for him.

So are Habs fans happy/relieved with the win yesterday or sad it took all of that to beat the Leafs?

Not sure but the default answer for any positive outcome is the Winter Classic so I'm going with that.

    Neither; I'm still very worried...

They need a scoring forward and I doubt they get him this year. With all the effort needed recently to squeeze out a point or 2, I doubt they will be in a playoff position in a month when Price MAY return. That would mean that management would most likely shut Price down for the year (on a side note, I feel that this is just an excuse from Montreal and that he is already gone for the year but whatever...)

Another crapshoot night yesterday.... On a positive note, Matthews would look splendid in a Habs jersey! Jokes aside, I still think they have enough ''magic'' to string up a series of consecutive wins in the next few months, helping them back into then playoff picture, but I'm confident that their current roster is not good enough to compete in the post season...

It was a weird game last night. The two goals the Habs scored were flukes. But they hit the post a couple of times on some nice drives. So it probably evened out.

But man, this team needs a pick-me-up of some type.

One thing that Michael Clifford mentioned on Twitter last night was that Therrien always does the same thing, even if it's not working. He won't change it up. His first year with the Habs was different. Guys got ice time based on how well they played. Gallagher's ice time increased as the season went on, for example and Gallagher was given more chances to succeed based on his play. Therrien doesn't do that now.

In his first year he hadn't developed any loyalty towards any vets so it was easier to just let the better players play. This year Carr somehow ended up back in the minors after being one of the team's only productive forwards.

Any news on the Drouin situation? I was away for a few weeks in mid-January while all the rumours were floating around of a potential deal for JD. I assume they were looking for a D-man amongst other assets from the Habs, but I did not see any potential names...

I heard Beaulieu ++ for Drouin but don't know how reliable the rumor was.

Yzerman is holding tough but Drouin's value is doing nothing but dropping at the moment. He has to be moved to someone before he is considered overly damaged.

The Habs could use someone who can score

Ok thanks! That was the only name I could see being used as a starting block on D (wish they would have kept Tinordi, he could have been a sweet add-on to a potential deal). So Beaulieu, Holloway and a 1st rounder?!? I doubt either side is OK with such a deal, but I can't fully grasp Drouin's value ATM, especially from Tampa's perspective. Therefore, I am having a hard time gauging the ++ aspect of that potential deal.

From what I heard it was Beaulieu and one of McCarron or Scherbak and a 1st or a 2nd

This was all before the Syracuse suspension.

There were rumors about Galchenyuk for Drouin straight up, but that just seems silly to me.
