I will say Barberio looked good yesterday. It'll be either him or Pateryn as #7. Tinordi should be in the minors for the time being.

Agreed! Tinordi just keeps on looking shaky year after year. I can see that he has the potential to bring his game to the next level but I just don't know when at this point.

Barberio could help them move the puck with more ease and Pateryn will be that physical/shut-down presence. Tinordi does not bring any of that ATM

Sometimes giraffe-like dmen take a while. Chara himself wasn't any good until his mid-20s. So for Tinordi I'd rather just keep him out of the spotlight for as long as possible. The alternatives are perfectly fine while he gives them hope for better in future years.

What are your thoughts on Gallagher this year? Very highly rated on Yahoo but borderline fantasy relevant... will he increase production to 55 - 60?

I'll definitely go with the under on 55. I like him as a compliment to more skilled linemates but I just don't see him being a points machine. If Yahoo has him ranked with 60-point players then it's just another bad ranking on their part.

Probably due to high number of SOG.... 254 is entering elite territory but I'm not sure if we should expect a regression.

Is there any chance Galch plays with Patch/Gallagher on L1?

Gallagher could hit 55 pts if the PP starts clicking. Most of his points have come at even-strenght last year. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think he was like top5 in ES points last season for a RW.

As for Tinordi, I really think he needs to play third pair minutes in the NHL. I feel like he doesn't have any confidence in his game. Thing is, the Habs cannot grow him on the 3rd pair as they are in a win-now mode.

He will not clear the waivers if sent down, trading him seems to be the only option.

Gallagher could hit 60 with some lucky bounces this season, but I wouldn't rank him with other 60pts forwards.

Something closer to 50pts is more reasonnable.

I must say... with Tinordi (probably #9 on the D chart) being the biggest over-analyzed topic in Montreal it just shows how far the team has come in a few short years...

I had posted these names in a ''funny team name'' thread but I think Habs fans would get a kick out of these in this forum (or not ).

Basically, I was listening to the radio yesterday at work and Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses was playing. I just glanced down at my Habs mousepad and drifted off for a couple of seconds at work and as the chorus came along, I muffled out ''... on a bed of De La Roses...''

My coworker laughed and asked me to repeat the lyrics that I had just sang. Let's just say, one song title quickly became 10+...

Bed of De La Roses (Bed of Roses)
Living on an Eller (Living on a Prayer)
Lay Your Subbans on Me (Lay Your Hands on Me)
Smith-Pelly When Wet (Slippery When Wet)
    Runreway (Runaway)
Semin For The Pain (Something for the Pain)
    Bad Emelin (Bad Medecine)
Keep The Flynn (Keep the Faith)
Gallagher For You (I'll be There for You)
Born to be my Petry (Born to be my Baby)
    Alweise (Always)
Have a Price Day (Have a Nice Day)

I like the ideal of Pac-Plek-Gallagher being a solid two-way line to help counter the more offensive-minded Eller-Galch-Semin line and the third with Desharnais. Hopefully the changes lead to move secondary scoring. Last year the team relied too heavily on its top players.
