Semin just made a nice defensive play. It may have been accidental.

I haven't really paid to close attention to him for a couple of years but I always felt Semin was a very defensively aware player. Just like his offensive prowess, it was/is always a question of how engaged he is in the game.

Habs are making a better push offensively. Way more chances to score than in past games.

I didn't notice him much yesterday. It was his first preseason game so I'm not really surprised. Unfortunately yesterday's game has no boxscore available so you can't even get detailed numbers about his night.

I don't think Scherbak was a threat at all to make it with the Habs this year, especially after Fleischmann's good showing. He didn't jump out as NHL-ready so the default plan is to stick him in the AHL until further notice.
