During the game last night the commentators speculated that Price might be in all three California games as a way to put the best team possible out there each time. I know it means nothing but just food for thought.

Gonchar won't play tonight (undisclosed). Weaver will replace him.

    Whoever scripted a shootout for a 10:30 game is a real A-hole.

Also, how much longer before Eller gets benched?

So total trap game coming up on Saturday... and I call it a trap game because they already lost a bunch of games vs another AHL team in Buffalo.

I love Newfoundland, as you can imagine, but I've always wondered about NHL teams wanting an AHL team there. It's pretty difficult to get a player called up on short notice some days. I've always thought it would be better to have an AHL team somewhere closer to home, so if a plane isn't available, at least a player can drive there.

I would have never guessed. Glad to say I learn new things every day!

I agree although I do not know all of the details. I really liked the Hamilton spot because, as you mentioned, it's a short flight. I would imagine they'll have a good setup to get guys to Montreal quickly but if they are on the road they are in perhaps the worst possible spot distance-wise to get players to join the team. Hopefully they did it because it benefits the team somehow and not just to satisfy the AHL seemingly wanting to take turns touring different towns...

I'm not a fan of moving the team there for logistics reason.

Hopefully the rink in Laval will be ready soon(ish), so they'll move there. That's the plan, right?

Maybe they can get the new arena in Quebec?

That game was disgusting. Ugh. A total of eight shots between the first, third and overtime combined. The Habs had at least four 2-on-1 chances, and never got a shot on any of them. Sloppy play clearing the zone. No urgency in their game. Just disgusting.

It's like the players were expecting something big at the deadline and have been flat ever since. 1-2-2 since then.

Last night was disapointing. An other lost agains Tampa. Price kept them in there again, but they'll need to score too if they want to win a few games.

The other problem is that whenever they do score it's usually Pacioretty.
