Is anyone else annoyed that the media is freaking out over Tinordi not becoming an overnight sensation in the NHL? Seems like it's either success by the age of 20 or bust with some people...

A big dman takes a while to develop. I don't see what the fuss is all about.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

That's how I see it too. Hell, most prospects take a while. Habs are getting lucky with guys like Beaulieu, Gallagher and DLR. Those guys are not the norm. Yet somehow the Habs are supposed to make a decision on Tinordi's future at this deadline.

Watching the game last night, I find he loses the puck a lot. Not sure if it's his size, or whatever, but he seems to be always looking around after the initial shot. The GWG, and the first one (I think) was him not knowing where the puck was after the first shot. That could explain why he's sliding around so much.

Those are his biggest issues right now. He was a lot better staying in position yesterday though.

Without giving any specifics, Gonchar basically said he's close to returning.

Anyone know why Weaver is being scratched so frequently? I think he would make fewer mistakes than Gilbert. Just haven't uncovered anything in my checking around...

Maybe it's a way to keep him healthier since he blocks so many shots?

Sekac traded to the Ducks for Devante Smith-Pelly. I like the trade because it fits a need but I also think DSP has more overall long-term potential. Second or third liner that offers a lot of hitting regardless of his role.

Sekac is nice but I kind of see him as a low-end 2nd liner at best, most likely a good 3rd line scorer.

Hopefully that's it and he's not sitting out as an actual "healthy scratch" by merit.

What I also like about the trade is that there were occasional whispers that Sekac could go back to the KHL at some point. So, that now becomes somebody else's problem.
