The Caps seem to have trouble with short Habs goalies...

And speaking of Halak, the last time a short guy came in and played really well Price didn't handle it so well for a couple years...

I watched half of last night's game.

Tokarski really impressed. Looks like he was the only player who showed up for a while. He got them the win.

MTL needs to play better in the first period. They won't be able to climb their way out of a deficit all the time.

This type of thing I associate more with the start of the new season and getting into the routine. If the Habs play like that in every first period for all 82 games they'll have the best lottery odds of landing McDavid.

It's worth noting that Sekac was moved onto Plek's line during the game. I believe Gallagher was over on Eller's line but might not be remembering well.

Thanks. Looks like the new line combos will stick for Saturday's game.

Ya. Not that PAP hasn't looked good with Patches and DD but I much prefer the room that Gallagher creates for them with his imposing frame.

I was going to correct you but remembered that John Gaudreau brought down the league's average size.

Gaudreau was actually the actor used for the McDonalds commercial.

Probably not much but I think he could be in for a small increase.

One key to the Canadiens’ early success has been the addition of fourth-line centre Manny Malhotra. Therrien said the 34-year-old veteran has taken some of the defensive burden off Tomas Plekanec.

“We’re able to use Plekanec in a different role,” the coach said. “He has less responsibility. In the past, he’d be taking a big faceoff, but now Malhotra’s here and he’s doing a great job. He’s winning faceoffs, he’s killing penalties. So he’s taken on the defensive roles that Pleky was playing and, as a coach., I’m able to use Pleky in more offensive roles, and so far it’s been pretty good.”
