I wouldn't put the odds at zero but it would be a disaster.

McCarron apparently dropped 11 pounds this summer. He's following in my footsteps!

I don't know if that is a good thing for McCarron. He should be in the 220 range now as opposed to the 230 range... I mean, Brian Boyle is in the lower 240's and is only an inch taller than McCarron at 6'7. Then again, Pronger was a beast and at 6'6 he was at 220lbs (like McCarron now). Let's just hope that lighter = faster without losing out on the physical aspect.

Anybody has seen Sergachev play yesterday night?
The media is drooling over his performance but I can't judge since I didn't watch the game.
Habs management is clearly high on his potential though.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
Watched parts of the game here and there, flipping back and forth between that and Can/Europe game.
He looked ok, moved with the puck well, and a good shot on the PP, but it definitely looked like his first game against NHL players, a little nervous maybe.
Pateryn's looked good, I know it's just pre-season but he's looked good paired with Beaulieu.

Habs have 8 Dmen on 1-way contracts
Weber, Markov, Petry, Emelin, Beaulieu, Pateryn, Barberio, Redmond
If they want to keep Sergachev in the big league, I wonder what they'll do with the 1 or 2 extra D...
They can send down Barberio and/or Redmond. Do you think they'll be claimed on waivers?
They can also shop Emelin, but Therrein likes his physical play and with a partial no-trade clause (10 teams he won't accept, I think) and a 4,1M$ contract, this could be hard to do...
Keeper league (12 teams) - keep 6 (+ NHL team is auto keep)
Weekly lineup: 1T, 9F, 4D, 1G
Points only:
Forwards & Dmen: goal (1), assist (1)
Goalies: win (2), otl/sol (1), shutout (2)
Team: win (2), otl/sol (1)
Only 2 FA pickups for the season (remaining: 0)
[T] Edmonton
[F] Panarin, Pettersson, Bedard
[D] Heiskanen, Theodore, Dobson
[G]
Thanks for the report evans.
After a couple more games, it'll be easier to evaluate him I guess.
As for Pateryn, I always liked his play: very direct, physical and efficient.
Last season he looked real good even if the Habs were going downhill.
Steady #5 or #6 and I get the sense that he could surprise with his development.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

1) I think their forward lines are pretty saturated ATM, especially their top-6 which seems to be complete now that Shaw looks to have the first gig on the 2nd. Maybe if an injury or something occurs but I can't see how they would let Ghetto, Carr, Lehkonen, Danault, McCarron or even Scherbak sit in favor of putting a D up front let alone top-6 duties.
2) I'm with you on Sergachev; I don't think that he will stay up unless the Habs are struggling mightily later on and have used most other options without any success. I was thinking that they would keep him up early on but the top-6 or 7 seems set in stone; I don't see where he would fit.
