What's going on with Desharnais?
Seems like Plekanec is now back to being the #1 C, which blows for me (trying to contend).
Given the current state of things, is there any chance he turns it around? Really not sure if I should move him (very little value right now) or try and hold on and hope for a big second half.
Any insight appreciated!

My feeling is he's going to bounce back, I'd hold onto him, particularly since as you pointed out he has very very little trade value right now - courtesy of both his 5 pts in 13 games start and the fact that he is criminally underrated in fantasy circles (the quietest 60-pt forward in the league last year). How often does a guy who gets 60 points start the next season with something like 45% ownership percentage in CBS?
I don't think Plekanec is the "no 1 C", fact is if anyone's the no 1 C it's Desharnais given that Cole/DD/Pacioretty last year cleary solidified themselves as the no 1 line, problem is the line has started off badly and so ice time is going to other players, including Plekanec. But keep in mind that Plekanec often gets more TOI than Desharnais simply because he plays in more situations, such as PK.

A regression is very possible for the three. Still fantasy relevant but maybe not as good.

The new Desharnais/Pacioretty/Gallagher line looks GREAT tonight, responsible for both Habs goals and dangerous every time they're out there.

Gallagher gets his head driven into the boards from behind by Luke Schenn, "eyes roll back" according to Sean Coleman of TSN690 who was in the seats right by the glass, off to the dressing room. Hope it's not a concussion.
Pacioretty drives the net hard and Timonen takes him out, he smashes into the post with his side, then off to the dressing room. My guess is a rib injury, although he's been known to come back from those without missing any time.

In Pacioretty's case it looks like stitches from falling on the guy's skate.

Player of the game: Brendan Gallagher. He had a goal and an assist but more importantly he re-ignited David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty. The trio had a solid game until Gallagher was hit from behind by Luke Schenn (seems to happen a few times every time the Flyers are the opponent).
Goaltending: Petr Budaj 18/19 (.947). This was easily his best game of the year. The Flyers were not very good tonight but he made the key saves necessary to keep the game out of reach.
Desharnais had a goal and Pacioretty had two helpers before leaving the game with a cut. I do not know where the cut happened but he left the game to get stitches.
Alexei Emelin took a hit from behind from Claude Giroux (see what I mean?) where Giroux hit the back of his knee. He looked fine on the bench.
Rene Bourque had another strong effort with a goal and an assist. When thinking of the part-timers plague that hurt the team so much last year, Bourque was leading the way. Not this year. He has brought it every night.
Brian Gionta had a much better game with two assists.
Tomas Plekanec had a goal and won 13 of 21 faceoffs.

Gallagher does have a concussion, and looks to miss at least Monday's game.
Story and video of the hit is here on Yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...3Rpb25z;_ylv=3

Man Subban, love or hate his attitude...I do love watching him play. Just a strong checker. Timing is insane.
@SmittysRant
Theme of the game: Goalie controversy! Not really, but Petr Budaj had a great game stopping all 19 shots he faced. The team did a good job tightening up defensively with Price sidelined without going to far into their shell to give the opposition a chance to make a comeback.
The game was actually decided during a brief meltdown by Cam Ward. It began with a shot by Tomas Plekanec that went off his neck and bounced in to make the game 2-0. Ward was clearly shaken up and shortly afterwards allowed Max Pacioretty's first goal of the season from behind the center ice line. Ward was clearly not focused at the time and by the time he regained composure the Canes were down by three.
Plekanec had a great fantasy stat-line: 1 goal, plus-1, 4 shots, 11/19 faceoffs.
Alex Galchenyuk also had a great fantasy stat-line: 1 assist, plus-1, 4 PIM, 4 shots.
Eight different Canadiens had a point in this game.
The power play died after such a hot start to the season.
This season's part-timers, Erik Cole and Brian Gionta, both showed much better energy in this one. Both were very involved and had some good chances to score.
