Regardless of what Ryan is being paid, he hadn't been a star producer for at least 2 and a half years. Unless a 50ish pt, 20something goal scorer is a star? If you do think that production warrants being labeled a star, I'll make it easy for you. Bobby Ryan is a star on and for the Sens. Of the ice and on in my opinion. Fan favourite and if you want to call him the new Mike Fisher, go ahead. Production be damned.

The Ottawa Senators will be without forwards Bobby Ryan and Alex Chiasson along with defenseman Chris Phillips against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
It sounds like Colin Greening and Erik Condra will take the missing forward spots, so adjust your lineup accordingly.

I'd be a happy man if Lehner played only the lesser of the two teams when the Sens have back-to-backs the rest of the way. Just so many holes in his game and regression on once strong areas. Good thing is, from what I can see, those issues are all fixable/teachable.
I am loving the silence from the small portion of the Sens Army that pegged Lehner as the started as soon as last season.

someone told me Lehner had "no chance" on the 1st goal because it was deflected, did anyone else see it that way? I went on espn to double-check highlights but they didn't include that goal. I know it was deflected but thought he should have had it.

How has Hoffman looked lately? No points in 3 straight. Is he still generating scoring chances? I'm debating starting him next week with OTT playing 4 games over Kucherov who only plays 2.

That's an easy starting decision for me - Hoffman.
Hoffman is still getting his chances. The "Kid Line" isn't together anymore since Lazar has missed the last two games to injury but Hoffman-Smith-Stone are still impressing. He isn't get the shots he needs to continue on Cy Young pace, but he is still getting PP time on the point. Young players like him will be streaky in my opinion and even more so when the player is goal heavy like Hoffman is.
Bottom line for me and the root of your post, choose Hoffman over 4 games instead of Kucherov in 2.

Last year i wondered if MacLean's stubborn faith in Cowan would lead to his dismissal, now i wonder about the way he uses gaffe-prone Legwand. NO way he should be out there with Karlsson on the first PP unit. Just crazy they don't put Ryan out there Turris and mcarthur on the first unit, and have Karlsson and either Turris or Ryan handle the puck near the point. And let that unit stay out for a minute 20, say, then put out a second unit with Ceci, Zib, maybe Legwand and try to bang away to get a goal. Ryan a natural scorer and one of few on the team, why the hell is he not ALWAYS on the first unit with one of the best and most visionary passers in the game.
In addition to that brutal giveaway he was put out there in key face-off situations and won....37% of them!!!
