I started another thread, but why is Wiercioch scratched?

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned, but Greening played on Spezza's line a lot last night.....in place of Conacher.
He was pretty much by himself two years ago and still managed 84 pts (we just have to hope for a healthy season).
If he and Ryan ever clicked it would be great ala the Spezza-Heatley-Alffy line BUT I feel as if he'd be constantly trying to hard to look to set up Ryan rather than look for his own goals thus it might take a while if they were to ever become a dynamite duo.
I expect MacLean to try them again together at some point but as owners of Spezza/Ryan/Turris, I'm more than happy with the way things are going now.

No doubt Spezza will be a PPG player regardless of who he plays with. But so far I like Ryan a lot better with Turris and their line has formed some really great chemistry. As you mentioned I like the fact that Spezza has to carry the load himself and shoot the puck himself. He's got a wicked shot but never used to use it.
Ryan has been a brilliant fit and just provides that finisher we haven't had since Heatley. He's a better all-around player though and more physical.
I think Stone will be a good fit for Spezza, they've really tried to line those two up in the past.
Is Conacher gonna be the guy on the top line or will Greening take it? Looks like last game it was Greening.
I may be landing Conacher in a trade, but really am only interested in him if he is a top 6 guy.

I was a bit surprised to see Conacher moved off Spezza's line. Thought he looked good despite only the 2 pts.
Curious to see what happens to Michalek when he's a UFA. Ideally a short term contract until some prospects are ready for a top 6 role but unless you are 35+ or coming off a terrible year, every UFA seems to be getting multi year deals.

I thought Conacher looked decent but honestly Spezza just does it all himself on that line it seems no matter who plays with him. Could be a matter of a few lucky vs unlucky pts to see who sticks there, or maybe they are focussing on building the best chemistry on L3, who knows.
I can tell you he's looking ebtter than last year and a legit top 9 forward but to be honest, projecting pts at this point is extremely tough. I'd say 35-40.

well, the past 4 or 5 posts should tell you whats happening. He LOOKS real good with Spezz, but hes only been there a few games, and was replaced by Greening a fai bit last game. The entire OTT team hasnt exactly been performing at thier peak, and lines (save for the 2nd line) have been juggled by PM more and more in hopes to find that chemistry (or to get guys moving).
Conacher should be in teh top six but maybe teh 1st line might be a stretch, but given how wel lteh 2nd line is playing he is getting his look beside Spezza.
one thing that i think should happen, demote MM down to the 3rd line, leave Conacher at RW and bring Greening to L1.

By far the best one-timer on the team. Damn I love this kid's game. I sure hope he's here to stay.
