Not bad for a team that's missing Patrick Kane.

Have seen a couple reports on twitter that Oduya wants to return to CHI and is just waiting on cap to be cleared. Hope they can get him resigned at a reasonable price tag.

Yep, agreed. I think it's mutal. He could of signed by now. I'm sure Bowman has told him to hang loose for a bit, we're working on moves to get ya back signed here. I'd suppose something like that lol. He would of signed July 1st if that was not the case. So, yeah something's up with Oduya and Chicago sticking together.

So it sounds as if Marcus Kruger will take a 1 year deal if the Hawks cannot clear up space for a long-term deal.

    http://www.secondcityhockey.com/2015...alary-cap-2015

With Kruger in the fold, the Hawks could run 4 solid lines:
    Panarin/Dano, Toews, Hossa
    Panarin/Dano, Anisimov, Kane
    Bickell, TT, Morin
    Garbutt, Kruger, Desjardins

Q has said he wants to transition TT to center and having him on the 3rd line gives him some lesser quality opponents. As you can see, I think Bickell will be back and Shaw and Versteeg will be moved. Not crazy about the Morin and Bickell with TT but the other 3 lines should roll.

Do you see Nordstrom making the team out of camp or is he destined to start in the AHL?

He will fully be in the mix for the 7th forward spot. What he also has going for him is that Q seems to like him. Nordstrom has been given some opportunities and has improved over the last couple years. You also have Tikhonov, Hartman, McNeil, Danault, Baun, and Haggarty all trying to make the team. There is also a good chance that Morin is traded. Q never did play him much during his first stint with the Hawks. Definitely will be an interesting camp.

I think he could make the team and be used the same way as Timonen was last year. The top 4 is locked in. Not much value/impact unless an injury occurs.

    Just an update.

Dano has been playing on LW with Toews and Hossa and has looked really good. Scored a hat trick in a scrimmage and Q had some good things to say about him.

TT has been centering the 3rd line with Panarin and Tihkonov. Panarin has looked really good and Keith had some strong compliments for him.

"During the 2005-06 NHL pre-season, Brandon Bochenski would score an astonishing 5 goals and 4 assists in just 5 games. At this point, Bochenski was looking like he’d be a good player, and fans were optimistic about the skinny kid from Minnesota. Even Don Cherry was on the Bochenski Bandwagon, as he picked him to win the Calder Trophy that year, this despite a stacked rookie class which included the likes of Crosby and Ovechkin"

This isn't needed. Do what you want with the information. I appreciate hearing how things are going with other teams. Maybe others feels the same.

Just an FYI- Garbutt was with Toews and Hossa last game. This makes sense in terms of how Q likes to have a dominant, possession-controlling first line to oppose a team's top line. Garbutt's strong forechecking is a nice compliment to Toews and Hossa's skating and puck control. Saad played there last season and Sharp the season before that. Q had Shaw on that line but he was invisible. Still think Dano is a good fit there when he comes back. I also see Q putting TT there when he needs some more offense.
