Bad weather tonight in Chicagoland, the UC was still jam packed. The kids Shaw & Hayes electrifying the joint. All over the ice, hits, goals, creating havoc. Huge Huge energy. Exactly what we need with Sharpie out. Bolland playing with fire, and Monty getting in the act as well. All around awesome awesome effort from entire team. We chased Harding, now going to work on Hackett. 4-1 starting the 3rd.

Gotta give a big shout out about Andrew Shaw and Jimmy Hayes. Another absolutely awesome game tonight. They are quickly earning themselves a main stay up with the Hawks for the rest of the season. ( One of them will at least ). I'm not saying they are gonna light up the score-sheet but both these guys hit everything in sight.

Hayes 7 games 4 points 21 hits 4 Pim 15 SOG

Shaw 5 games 2 goals 5 Pim 13 hits 8 SOG

These two will not burn up the scoresheet, im simply saying in deeper leagues these two dudes are solid plays right now.

Shaw and Hayes were the show at the UC. Big hits, tons of energy, crowd was electric when these kids hit the ice for their shifts.

Oh and one more Stud tonight. Dave Bolland 2 G and 1A our depth players are picking up there game right now.

Carcillio two games left on suspension then possible knee surgery, another roster spot would open up if Hawks can IR him. Smith or Morin will be back up when / if that happens.

Can we pretend the first 20 minutes of the game didn't happen? Hawks came out flat for first period. Detroit dominated. 2nd,3rd periods much much better energy and flow. Crawford was a stud in this game, kept the Hawks in this one. Andrew Shaw yet again another solid game from him all around and an easy goal on a fluke cast off from Howard's stick. Q had this to say on Shaw: "I like him. Smart player, finds a way, you notice him."

Toews gets credit for the game tying goal (23) on the year. Leddy had a much better game today chipping in with an assist and +/- 1.

Frolik ughhh Frolik missed a " gimmie" opportunity for a goal and he had this to say after game. "Those chances happen once in a while. The good goal scorers put it in and I didn’t.”

I'm just happy we walk away with one point from this one. Hawks lead in the Central is now 1 point (58 pts) Detroit is right there with 57.

If you have not fell in love with Andrew Shaw yet hockey fans, you should and will very soon. This kid ( yes its a small sample size) is electric. He's come on board and fit right in with the team. He brings insane energy, fearless, has grit, and scoring abilty. He has an NHL game mindset. He will stick with the team for the remainder of the season.

Hawks we're a much different team tonight than they were for the first 20 minutes of the Detroit game. We had the intensity notched up much more tonight.

Viktor Stalberg, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane line was simply beautiful hockey. Keep these guys together for a while.

The 2nd half for the Hawks kicks off with a humdinger of a matchup with the Canucks in Vancity. Brendan Morrison makes his return. Welcome to the Canucks / Hawks rivalry Brendan. He'll bring alot to us, not so much in scoring, but in faceoffs, experience, lower line leadership,etc.
