    Default Howard or Pavelec today?

    Which one to start today?
Howard at home against Flames Or
    Pavelec at home against Islanders?

I would be hard-pressed to find a reason to ever not start Howard IMO...

    I'd go Howard:

Calgary is 15th with 2.94 goals scored per game but Detroit is so good defensively as a team. Calgary is 21st with 3.00 GA/G.

Detroit scores 4.18 goals per game at home. on scores Calgary scores 2.62 per game on the road (give up 2.87 per game).

Buuuutttt....the Isle have lost 12 in a row. I would just have a hard time sitting Howard.

I would be hard-pressed to not start a hot goalie against a horrible team on a 12 game losing streak. He just shut out the Capitals. Howard has been iffy lately against some questionable offenses (Blues and Wild) and the Flames are scoring a LOT more goals than the Isles. Add it all up, divide by the denominator.... and go with Pavelec.

Just for more info to consider:

    Doug Weight-C-Islanders Nov. 21 - 3:26 pm et

Doug Weight (back spasms) didn't travel with the Islanders to Atlanta for Sunday's game.

Weight also missed Saturday's game due to the injury. He has two goals and nine points in 18 games this season.
