I think one of the factors in Holmgren's decision making process will be the Phantoms location in Adirondack.

Holmgren (and Leighton) gives goaltending coach Jeff Reese alot of credit for his work with both Leighton, and Bobrovsky.

When the flyers and the Phantoms played across the street from each other, and shared a practice facility; the goaltenders from both teams had access to the coach (Reggie Lemelin) on a regular basis, ....but with Reese being based in Philadelphia, and the only coaching available in Adirondack being John Paddock (doing double duty as coach/GM after the firing of Greg Gilbert) and asst. Riley Cote (one year removed from his playing career, taking his first baby steps as coach, and being viewed as more of a motivator than a technician) I think Holmgren would rather send out the independent minded, maxed out, old pro, who's developed his own technique over the years (Boucher), then one of the two guys he still sees as having the potential to still get better.

Ideally Boucher would pass through waivers (the Oilers just got a better goalie through), and still be available, and getting work.

Of course the wildcard in this is whether or not Holmgren's pissed off at Leighton for not informing him of his injury, ...if so, then all bets are off, Homer's stubborn, proud, and a hot head, ...he'll decide "the Philadelphia Flyers never needed Michael $%^&'ng Leighton anyway", ....or that his salary will be a deterrent to anyone claiming him.

Either way, Leighton figures to have a nice long rehab stint ahead of him as an AHL Phantom.

    Bobrovsky won't be sent down.

Leighton might go on a conditioning stint first. Assuming he does well enough to get NHL time, they'll probably keep Boosh, Bob, and Leighton all on the roster if they can. Out of the three though, Boucher is the least likely to stay on the roster and the least likey to get starts or get good stats.
