For a points only keeper how would you rank these defencmen: DelZotto, Yandle, Kulikov, Letang, Niskanen, White, Demers, A. Larsson, and Shattenkirk?

    Thanks!

I would rank them as follows:

Del Zotto - He's running the PP and his only downfall is +/- which doesn't count for you
    Yandle - Stud in Phoenix
Letang - 3rd on depth chart for defense PP time, but will still get his share
White - Big shot, once Flames start to click he will be huge on PP
Demers - Will get some points in San Jose
Kulikov - Replaced McCabe on PP, big part of rebuilding
    Niskanen - Hit or miss
Shattenkirk - May move up a few spots in the future, but won't out produce anyone this year
    Larsson
    YEAR ONE OF THE REBUILD

Farm: F - L. Brown, Dauphin, Hayden, Heponiemi, Krebs, Newhook, Suzuki, Thomas, Zegras; D - Byram, Dahlin, Heiskanen, T.Smith; G - Dipietro, C.Gibson, Luukkonen

    Count Pts, +/-, W, SO

If I can only keep 5 who would you pick?

I would protect the 1st 4 well above the rest - the others I find harder to rank as they are not in the same class at all IMO.

Ummmm, Adam Larsson is very much in the same class. Obviously not based on current production, but he would easily be the 5th one I would keep. So my 5 would be Del Zotto, Yandle, Letang, Kulikov, A Larsson. Good for now and the future imo.

Has Shattenkirks recent play moved him up at all?

Well he sure is looking good right now and Del Zotto, Kulikov and Demers are having really slow starts. I wonder if this is just a tease though as he had 0 points in 10 games for Lake Eerie in the AHL and when he was called up many Avs fans felt he wasn't even close to being ready. But some players are able to succeed in the NHL after struggling in the AHL and he might be one of them.

Overall I wouldn't read too much more into his hot start than you would read into the slow starts of those other guys.
