I like Serious Chinny's balance and picks the best. Looks like something off of my 'wanted' list for my pools.

I can tell that Fergie stole Hartnell from you..

Chinny jumped out to me too. Kovalchuck at 9 and getting Nash in round 3 and both with dual wing eligibility. I had 3 wings with dual eligibility last year and that flexibility was great especially for injury fill-ins.

Metal's team is pretty solid as well, just might need a slight upgrade in net over that Ottawa duo haha.

I like Marcus a lot as a wild card. His offense is just plain awesome, but I'm sure he's already praying for Hiller to stay healthy. However, he has the depth up front to deal for another G.

During the draft I was thinking the Metaldude and Chinny were assembling the best teams over the top half of the draw. Over the second half, my list seemed to be quite a bit different than most, so I wasn't watching everyone else's picks as closely. Up until the Price pick, I was a big fan of the Commish.

Thanks Doulos. Having Miller go right before me in 1 and Kane in 3 hurt a bit. My strategy last year was to have among the best G and D and just try to be balanced elsewhere to allow maximum flexibility in watching the wire during the season. Halak's certainly not a guarantee, but in combination with Lundqvist, I should be in the top 3 in all three goalie categories. Getting 7 solid D (Johnson, Ehrhoff, Martin, Campbell, Bouwmeester, Babchuk and Boychuk) was the next goal. Up front, I've got some injury risks (Gaborik, Gagne and Savard) but I wouldn't have been able to draft them where I did if they didn't have those risks.

    Should be a fun league.

Lots of unbelievers out there (and in our forums) on Price, but I think the Montreal braintrust is pretty smart. They feel Price's upside is higher than Halak's and I agree. They have set the table for Price to succeed. The Habs play a defensive style and that will only help Price.

Price will have a good to very good year. Book it.

I'll phrase my comment slightly different then - Your first 5 picks were probably the best first 5 picks in the draft. Ovechkin is the best person by a mile, and gives you a huge advantage even over the team that gets Crosby. He is the most dominant player in roto leagues by a mile. I think whoever picks second would be better off if he traded 2nd overall plus his third round pick for first overall and a 10th round pick. After taking Ovechkin, goaltending is the shallowest position in a saves based league. Getting Kipper was great. Keith is one of the best D around, and Chara was an absolute steal where you got him. In short, if I'd had #1 overall, the dream scenario would have almost been the same as your first 5 rounds. Maybe the only error on your part at the top was Goals - the top goal scorers go early, and are overvalued in trading and are hard to acquire. Regardless, your team was great for the first 5 rounds.

After round 5, most of your picks were solid, but I wouldn't say your end roster is one of the top 2. Price is part of the package, but not the determining factor. I guess I'm just trying to say that the first 5 rounds were better than the next 15.

Regardless, it's going to be a fun year. Enough about guessing which rosters are good and which ones are not good, it's almost time to drop the puck.
