Looks like Stepan's been exposed for who he really is
Do you think Stepan has a chance to take over top line center from Erik Christensen. If so, what do you think the percentage of that chance is and how long will it take him. I dropped Regin in my keeper to snag him after his 2nd goal tonight, im also carrying Callahan so I hate to rely on the Rangers too much.

I don't see them making any changes - all of the lines were clicking together. Avery played a great game with Stepan. It worked so I don't think they'll change anything soon. Could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Stepan is not going to the minors any time soon. Do you really think Christinson, Dubinsky and Dury are better than this guy? Rangers are weeker than the Flames up the middle. It's a young mans' game now days and this kid lead the World Jr's in scoring. He's not a 80 point guy this year but 60 points on the high side....why not.

Brunnstrom, Filatov, Stepan.... There's a number of guys who have had early hat tricks, only to be sent down soon after (Filatov) or not carry that production (Brunnstrom).
Stepan's hat trick doesn't mean he'll be a 50 goal scorer this or any year. And just as Brunnstrom/Filatov, it doesn't mean that it's way out of character either.
I know everyone is excited the season started, but remember, it's one game, we aren't even a week in. Are we all scared because Crosby and Malkin are on pace for only 41 points each?!?!?! no.

I own Stepan in my keeper league but I would deal him immediately if someone overvalues him after that hat trick.
Stepan is talented. No doubt there. There was all this early talk when he was paired up with Gabby and Fro on the first line but I didnt think that was ever going to happen in game one. Nice to see him click a little with Avery and bury those 3 goals in his first game. I think he is a keeper for sure and I am eager to see how he settles in with the Rangers. Their terrible depth up front and some injuries opened up the door for him and he kicked it in with a hat trick. He should continue to produce and hopefully he can get some good PP minutes and play with the top forwards with the Rangers. Avery is Avery but he is NOT in Gabby and Fro's class. I cant imagine someone overpaying for him right now so sit tight and see if he can get like 10 goals or so in his first 25-25 games and then see what offers come in.
