How are the new pad regulations going to effect JS Giguere? Also, can you quickly comment on what kind of season you expect JS to have (Wilson already deemed him starter, kinda odd dontcha think?). He had a good 15 game stint with the Leafs but had 2 poor seasons previous with the Ducks. Does he have the mental makeup to be a 50+ game starter in TO?
As far as his pads are concerned, I'll have to answer this in his first game.
Yes, Giguere as the starter is interesting.
But I wouldn't read too much into it.
It's a new season. Even though Gustavsson ended the season on a tear, Giguere was much better as well. But The Monster got more attention because he came such a long way in half of a season.
I'll post more thoughts in tomorrow's school of block. Definitely changes both their situation heading into the season.
