I believe the draft order is yahoo picked 30mins before the draft, it keeps everyone guessing! But i agree it would be great to find out in advance!
Last year for the entry league we used an online service like netcommish to set the draft order in advance. Not sure if that is the plan again.

Im confused with the reserves. Is that just if someone can't make the draft and/or doesn't want to join now?
Yes, generally there are a few people who don't respond, can't make the draft so bow out or can't take part for other reasons.
At that point the reserves are next in line to fill those empty spots.
I am 3rd on the reserves list. when will I know if I am in or out? will someone send me an email?

You should be able to check the settings once you join the Entry league in Yahoo, but here's a quick summary of the format.
Rotisserie with weekly lineups. Entry leagues have 15 teams (+1 dummy team for commish). Roster 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G, 5 BN.
Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG)
Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Saves (SV)
