I need a replacement for Gonchar & these are the candidates:

Drew Doughty
Ryan Whitney
Alex Goligoski
Victor Hedman

But all of them are relatively close in value, so being 4th isnt really a knock on Hedman.

I think the best bet is to take Ryan Whitney ( cant go wrong) and also Drew Doughty especially if its a keeper league.

Whitney is the safe bet here. If you want to gamble a bit then grab Goligoski because he may just pop without Gonchar. I'd say Doughty and Hedman are a couple steps lower, I just can't picture them putting up numbers with consistency.

If you want a safer pick I'd go with Doughty or Whitney but if you want to take a little risk and go for a home run you could take Goligoski. You've already got Suter on the bench, I think you can afford to take the risk and hope for Goligoski to put up huge numbers.

What's the downside on Doughty? Inexperience? He been tearing it up. Is the consensus that he won't put up the same numbers as a Goligoski by seasons end?

I guess I'm looking for a pro-Doughty argument. I love this guy's game.

He's very good but can you see Kopitar continuing to outscore Malkin and Crosby? Doughty is more talented than Goligoski but you have to think that their production is going to be closely linked to that of their team's big guns. As such Goligoski is the favourite.

Basically, I'm saying Whitney is an easy favourite because he's a known quantity, so like I said before he's the safe bet. If you are gonna gamble both Goligoski and Doughty are great young options that are tearing it up but ultimately who would do you feel can keep up their production full year? From where I`m sitting, if I`m gonna gamble on a youngster I`ll take the one piggy-backing off Malkin and Crosby.
