Is there a reason he would go to a Swiss league over the KHL or the SEL or SM? I remember the Swiss olympic team had some pretty sweet goaltending back in '04...is this a good place for goalies to go to or is Stephan just desperate for work?
Tobias Stephan has signed to play in Switzerland:
SWISS TEAM WEBSITE
Bachman should have no problem beating out Matt Climie for the starter role with the Texas Stars. Brent Krahn will probably end up in the ECHL.
You won't see Stephan back in the NHL again.

Stephan is from Switzerland and came up through the Swiss system... looks like he's just going home.

The Swiss league also pays some decent cash. Some Swedish players go there to earn a bit more than they could in the SEL.
Edit: By the way, now that we're talking Swiss goalies, whatever happened to David Aebischer?
GO WINGS!
Stephan is regarded as the 2nd best goalie to come out of Switzerland skillwise.
Better than Gerber and Aebischer.
Stephan played for Kloten Flyers and was coached by Peter Markus.
Hiller and Reto Berra (WJ star in Vancouver 2005) are coached by Marcel Kull in Davos the team that produces great goalies in Switzerland.

Oh, ok, I had no idea he was Swiss.
That 2006 Swiss olympic team had Huet too, right? And Streit of course. I think they had Huet, Gerber and Aebischer....not bad for a little neutral country in the middle of Europe

Huet is French, I believe.

That's right, France-French. For some reason I thought Huet jumped on board with the '06 Swiss team...but I was wrong. Gerber and Aeb were there tho, here's all the rosters:
