HOKEJ.SPORT.CZ: reports New Jersey Devils center Petr Vrana has signed with Vitkovice of the Czech Extraliga. He considered himself fortunate to play with stars like Patrik Elias but said he never got much room on the Devils roster.

    -Vrana should be downgradded.
-I said it last month, and say it again, why is Slava Trukhno so high. He is absolutely nowhere near the NHL and never will be.
-Why is Skille so high? Maybe replace him with Beach (who is nowhere to be found).
-Ebbett, Anismov, Boychuck, Stoa, Etc are nothing more than 2nd line 60 pts unpside. That\'s it.
-Hammill is a ways away especially with the deep team and Colborne who overtakes him. A way.
-Is Jamie McGinn anything more than a top, 9? History does not show it, so why all of a sudden on a deep SJ club?
-Kennedy and Terry are great players that are sure to put up great numbers. Move them up.
-What is Brandon Sutter doing on this list. A fourth line shut down specialist!
-Finally, I said it once and will say it again, please make 2 lists (1 for D-men prospects).

Just went over the list last night and noted some things. I maybe wrong, but at the very least would get some \"correction.\"

Dude, I dig what you have to say about this stuff, I really do. Cuz yeah I can`t really argue with what you`ve got to say, there are a bunch of guys that rate on my list differently. I just think you either take way too much joy out of proding at the list or you take it way too literally. Look at the criteria layed out for the list. Some of the guys on there can easily be explained by the fact that they are close to the NHL or are playing on playoff teams. Yes there are some oddities, like Truhkno who as an Oiler fan, I know he`s garbage, but it`s not my list. Beggars can`t be choosers. I`d personally like to see your list of players, I really would, because as much as I like to look at Dobber`s list it doesn`t factor into my league nearly as much because I dont count playoffs.

I dig your idea on the D men prospect list, but that just piles on the work for Dobber. Again with the beggars. It`s free so take whatever you will from it.

That`s my bit of free advice so again take from it what you will. I realize criticizing the critic is not always a smart move but this was my crack.

I wouldn\'t link Boychuk with those guys. He\'s going to be a very good player.

metaldude26 my \"goal\" is not to criticize the source. Far from it. My goal is to get some viewers take on what I am saying. I value allot of viewers points here (not just Dobbers) and love to hear back any points I am missing. I have annuall drafts and just want to be as informed as possible.
I also realize its a free site. But also have paid for pretty much every report (other than P/o\'s as I feel its a total crap shoot). So this \"stuff\" reflects on reports. That\'s all.

    Also, regarding the prospect list.
From my understanding, Dobber already has a number of prospects ranked so it is not so much \"additional workload.\" The prospect list moves minimally, so after inital posting it would be minor. Not to mention what a great benefit it would be for all of us.

Cool, so from that stand point I`ll take a shot at one thing, I think Skille maybe doesn`t deserve to be as high but I hold him way higher than Beach just because he`s ready to go now and Beach still needs to figure out the whole attitude thing.

RE Kyle Beach: I have a few friends who played on a team with Beach in Kelowna, and they said everyone hated him (yes, even the players on his team). He\'s cocky as hell and not fun to be around in the dressing room. That being said, they also acknowledged that he was a good player. I just don\'t see him getting a call up to the NHL until he sorts out his attitude problems, and by the sounds of it, that could be a while.

    1. Vrana slipped to 140 for the Prospects Report.

    2. Skille is high because he is a sure thing - guaranteed NHLer. His game will take a while to peak, but he\'ll be in the NHL next year and will get 30. I see this progression from him:
    30, 40, 45, 55, 70...

    3. Beach? Besides Bobby Ryan, name a guy with a power game that gets fantasy-worthy within seven years. You have to wait a while, and his upside is barely over Skille\'s. A lot of people substantially overrate Beach. All I can do is advise you to tone it down.

    4. Trukhno - he is ranked 111 in the Prospects Report. So he has slipped, and slipped again, and will slip further I\'m sure. I have his upside at 70 points, 60% chance of becoming an NHLer and two years away from the NHL. If I\'m off badly in any of that, let me know. I don\'t think 111 is that high.

    5. Ebbett, Anismov, Boychuck, Stoa. In my opinion - horrible evaluations. You will likely be right in where they will peak, but I don\'t give \"likelies\" I give \"upsides\". So as an \"upside\" - which is a relative term that I use for all prospects - Ebbett\'s is 75 (and don\'t judge, because you didn\'t Andy McDonald would get 85 when you looked at him six years ago); Anisimov is 75; Stoa is 75 (and he is a VERY highly ranked guy on my annual Top 50 list that I open the guide with); Boychuk is 75.

    6. Hamill is ranked 80th for the guide, I have him 2.5 years away. Savard\'s contract is up after this season, and Bergeron is a UFA the season after. Who knows what 2.5 years will bring.

    7. McGinn - the Sharks have little in the pipeline in terms of offense. That has always been the case. But what little they have, they bring to the show and get fantasy value: Bernier, Pavelski, Setoguchi, Clowe, now McGinn. Next year Couture will play 40 games and get 12 points, while McGinn will do what Pavelski did in his first 80 game season. Think \"conveyor belt\". That\'s San Jose. McGinn is up to 43 for the PR.

    8. Terry actually moves up to 49 for the Prospects Report. Up 20. Kennedy actually slips to 57. Yes, he\'s a great player, but the next open spot is Gerbe\'s and Bugg and I agree Kennedy just isn\'t ready.

    9. Sutter - Agreed. But there is some intriguing upside. I know 60 points is a stretch, but it is possible. He\'s high because he\'s 100% making it to the NHL.

    10. D-men lists: I promise to look into setting this up when I get time.

I hope I enlightened you with my explanations

For the record, the May 10 update is the worst one...the June 10 update (because it\'s just after the PR is released) is the best one. Fully studied, audited and cleaned up. So every May, I\'m sure you\'ll be upset with my prospect rankings B) and every July you\'ll be upset with my regular rankings (because they are perfected for August)

Bluejays- I get a kick out of guys like you. You tear apart a ranking list that was painstakingly, and thoughtfully put together for FREE. I will anxiously await your top 200 prospect list and see if you feel like providing it for FREE.

I guess you would like Dobber to add a detailed paragraph with each player explaining why he is ranked where he is each month, again for FREE ( like he did in his reply to your post ). I guess you\'re happy now.

I\'m not necessarily arguing with your position on any of the players, although I think you are way off on some, but the way you worded your post was poor. If it\'s purpose was to generate discussion then I think your wording could have been much better.

You have to take this info and use it as a tool, not the be-all and end-all report. Although I give most weight to Dobber\'s opinions, I also look at several other sources and then form my own opinion on players.

Anyway glad to see you thanked Dobber.

BTW- buy the Fantasy Prospect Report today.
