So, I would like to ask another question here, perhaps hijacking the thread, but it is a goalie thread so no big deal. So, of our finalists, which one will lose the starting gig for their respective teams first next year? Bob? Helly? Demko? I'll go out on a limb and wager that one of these flakes will indeed surrender the starting role. it might not be permanent, but one or indeed all will shit the bed, but who gets there first??? Bob is old and inconsistent as any other flake out there. Helly shit the bed in the playoffs and may well have an incontinence problem heading into next year, there are cracks in the armour. Demko is a band aid boy and while finally having a decent year after 5 years in the league he is not exactly headed to the HoF iMO.

I'm having a little fun here guys, but if there isn't a whole lot of truth in all of this, I'm eating my socks !!!!

Out of Bob, Helle, and Demko I would vote Bob loses it first based just on age and quality/pedigree of the backup (Knight).

Florida has cap/re-sign issues this coming summer.
And Bob has M-NTC kick-in for next season (July 1st-start?).

So, I think there's definitely a scenario where:
*FLA gets Bob's list, moves him to a team needing goaltending (say... LA) at $1m-$5m retained (whatever LA can stomach)
*FLA saves the cap space to re-sign Reinhart at $8.5m-$9m. They get a cheap forward or two (FLA has 7 UFA forwards this summer)... maybe Kaliyev & Grundstrom.


That feels like a very, very, VERY possible match.
Especially with all three of LA's goalies being UFA this summer.
