For the league in my signature, would you pick up Monaghan and drop Seguin?

My answer would be a strong yes. Monahan’s only drawback throughout his career has been the multitude of injuries, so there’s the risk. But he’s produced with lesser wings in Montreal, and the Winnipeg power play is better than the Habs. He figures to get a bump in production. Seguin is on Dallas’ second PP, and has all of 3 power-play points vs Monahan’s 16. Other stats not remarkably different before the trade.

Keep in mind, those PPP for Monahan came due to the Habs having limited options so he got opportunity there. No guarantee he gets those some opportunities in Winnipeg.Originally Posted by Dr.Brad
I'm not sure if jump on Monahan. New team, system, coach could cause a regression until he gets settled and even then, who knows. No guarantee he gets the same opportunities either.

you can try it but you i would be surprised if it was big difference either way...i see both guys as similar production wise and i agree with others that Monahan's production and role will likely be reduced after the trade. Hate to say it but i think MTL came out like a bandit in that trade

Yes, center depth, especially with Scheifele out. There's not many options out there that had an affordable contract. Henrique is probably the next best option but his contract is a hell of a lot more than Monahans.

I think Seguin is playing with Marchment (who’s having a career year) and Duchene. They seem to be a cohesive line. I have no idea how Monahan will be used. I’m sticking with Seguin.

You think they bump Ehlers over a guy like Iafollo and his 5 ppp? As a jets fan I think.were past that nonsense with Ehlers but we'll see i guess...
