Very angry all of the time and would fly off the handle about perceived injustices in the world. He's now one of those online-only type individuals who has very few real world relationships because of how badly he mistreated everyone due to his desire to constantly virtue signal and "prove" that he was the only one who was really a good person. You're right, you don't know anything about me lmao. DonDraper.gif. I imagine your "buddy" feels the same, and has lots of fruitful and meaningful relationships. They just cut out the obvious toxic ones, purposefully.

Don't hold your breath for a quick resolution. The justice system in Canada moves at a snail's pace. If they are charged and if it goes to trial (both big ifs), it will be years before there is a verdict and even longer to play out the appeals process if they are convicted.

For all of its flaws though Canada typically hovers around the top 10 in the world for it's justice system according to the WJP Rule of Law Index. Room to improve but overall it's a well run, trusted system.

For sure, our justice system is better than most. But it's very slow, a fact that even the government acknowledges:
The system often results in long delays before a case is brought to trial, which has negative impacts on the accused and on the victim of the crime, both of whom are forced to wait for justice. Case completion time in adult courts continues to rise, even as the overall number of cases declines.
This quote is taken from a report published in July 2021 by the Department of Justice.

I didn't know the details until now and it honestly made me sick to my stomach reading it. CBC has an article up today that details the events in question. The players don't even deny it, they just made videos where she is seen saying it was consensual and that is their defense. Like, why would they need to film her saying those things if what they did was ok? Just beyond gross.

Over the next week I'm sure we'll see the other 4 surrender. I would not have thought that the guy flying from Switzerland would have been the first one to surrender (to public knowledge).

Sources familiar to the matter have told TSN that Hart, McLeod, Dube and Foote have been directed to surrender to police in London Ont, to be charged with sexual assault.

Worst kept secret in hockey but is this the end of all these players career even if found innocent in court?

Does anyone else find it weird that the guy who had to travel the furthest is the only one to surrender already?

So Calgary really did let Dube hide behind mental health for this. Par for the course for a joke organization.

I thought so too. But could be because his family/friends whoever has already had the talk about it since I'm sure he had to explain why he wasn't getting a deal in the summer. So it could have been, "Man, I'm the face of this. If I surrender first, maybe that helps me out a bit". And he didn't have to take a couple of days talking to people about it.

I really hope to media pushes this hard, especially with Kylington's stuff. The cop out for the team is "we didn't know, he was having panic-attacks related to this but we didn't know." but obviously wouldn't disclose medical stuff. I just want the media to ask the questions to push this.

It's going to take like a yr+ to figure this out. Probably closer to 2yrs.
Hart - RFA in 2024 (signed in 2021)
Dube - RFA in 2024 (signed in 2021)
Foote - RFA in 2024 (signed in 2023)
McLeod - RFA in 2024 (signed in 2023)
(lil sus if you ask me that all these guys deals just happen to end in 2024)

So even if innocent, they won't be under contract, and I doubt a team in the NHL touches them. Maybe a KHL team would?
