I also just went through all of the keepers from last year and the draft to see how it went. Hamilton was not a keeper!!!! And out of the 80 keepers there were only 10 D-men kept but 19 Goalies kept!

Given that bit about 19 goalies, I'd be willing to sell both both Buffalo goalies off, even to the same person, to find a high-end skater keeper.

Levi & Luukkonen can both succeed in the league, but they likely can't both succeed in Buffalo. YOu might want to see how mediocre volume guys like Binnington score in your league. I suspect they are pretty useful, but not often kept.

Definitely another avenue to explore. I have a feeling it will take a while to get a feel for how these GMs operate. Going through the rosters there are 4 of us that carry 3 goalies, 4 teams that roster 4, and 3 teams that carry 5! I get having a minimum of 4 starts a week makes goalies more valuable and this league is different than I am used to. The only other teams rocking 3 goalies have 3 STRONG ones. A few of the teams with 4 have 2 sets of tandems.

It will take some time but by the trade deadline I should have enough of an idea of how they trade and value players etc. to make wise waiver moves. Hopefully by keeper lock in I have enough of an understanding to value the keepers properly and have somewhat of an idea how to draft effectively. Currently in dead last and I would assume I'll be bottom 2. Just need to move a few more guys to upgrade a keeper or two and add a few more picks. Been able to add a 1st and a 3rd so far. Need Montour to go on a heater and try to sell the package of Verhaeghe and Montour for an upgrade of picks lol.

Dougie Hamilton has lost a step. I think he knows it.
And I think he'll continue to fall behind knowing that the hockey world loves all things Hughes.
He's a huge (6'-6") framed 30 year old...
I don't see him aging well.
I wouldn't invest in him. Stay young.

I agree and was hoping to move him before the injury but he can sit in IR for now. I'll rep you once I can, nee to spread some loving around. Now sitting 9th on the WW pecking order and Laf was just dropped. Dang it lol.

If you want Laf, put in a claim. Sitting that low, it's worth a shot. I put a claim in today on a guy in cap league, and I shouldn't get him, but I am sitting in the top third, so there's a chance. When you like the talent, you take the chance.

100% I have a claim in. I would rather try than not and have him go to the 10th WW priority guy.

With my new acquisition of Hughes I grabbed Eklund and dropped Nemec. I have my waiver bid in for Laf but wondering who I should use as the drop?!? Beniers or Eklund? Or as bad as it sounds potentially PLD? I guess Cozens could also be a drop as well. Trying to keep the better upside as a potential keeper or for trade value down the road.

I’d say I have 6 of my 8 keepers locked in with Marner, Bratt, Zegras, Sergachev, McAvoy, and Luke Hughes. Unless I make a big trade but that’s where I stand currently.
