Hill vs Skinner vs Vanecek vs Grubauer

I don’t see Vegas paying Hill to be a back up. I’m sure he will split but 60-40.

Skinner - currently in the driver seat. Young on a good team.
Grubauer/Vanecek - Grub - more starts on a solid defensive team. Vanecek - great team but competition from Schmid

Hill - will lose his spot to Thompson at some point this season. Has never been a legit starter, Binnington 2.0

It's some form of Vanecek and Skinner on top - which one depends on how you see things shaking up with their teams.

Skinner/Vanecek - I think these guys are reasonably solid starters on good teams, yes they do have backups who will get starts.

Hill - This was a weird signing by Vegas, part panic, part rewarding the guy in net during the Cup win. It's not weird that they signed him, it's the amount. He was good last year, and was the second best guy they had last year, behind Thompson; who is still there, and has been good both years in Vegas. I think this is a tandem situation, and it could go either way. Hill should get the starts early, but he ( like every Vegas goalie) hasn't been able to play a lot of games for various reasons, including injury. Max games played/started was 27/25 which was last year.

Grubauer - he hasn't been good in Seattle. I think he's got a somewhat shaky hold there, but he is the starter right now.

Grubs was pretty darn good in the last half of the season. The shaky start is camouflage

I like this - but in this format, with only W/L/Sho, and with Grubsuer the only surefire no 1 and Seattle with only 7 b2bs all season, I wonder if his value rises to equal Skinner, who could easily be in a full-blown tandem all year.
