Default Late in draft goalie to replace Vasilevskiy, help please

I didn’t want to hijack Islefan31 question “Good goalies to target using zero goalie strategy.”

Vasilevskiy is one of my 6 keepers. We’re in the middle of our slow draft.
In keeping with the Zero goalie strategy I drafted Skinner than Schmid.

News comes about Vasilevskiy’s surgery and we’re down to the bottom of the goalie barrel.

We have 4 minimum weekly starts. Sitting in the barrel are: Elvis, Vejmelka,
MAF, Varlamov, Hofer, Forsberg, Gibson, LA, Buffalo, Chicago, Montreal goalies.

    Who do you take ?

Even with your minimum start requirements I'd be focus on quality over quantity. Goalies on good teams jump out to me like MAF, Kings goalies. I don't hate taking a swing on Levi if he's still there because the upside is huge and you can always audible to the waiver wire if he ends up the odd man out.

I think you can count on 2 games per week from Skinner and 1 game per week from Schmid (and I noticed that EDM and NJD have the least amount of schedule conflicts), so a good backup who gets another 1 game per week is still feasible I think. I wouldn't carry 4 goalies so tandems are out IMO.

I'd rank back up options as: Varlamov, Levi (due to upside - though this is risky), Forsberg, MAF.

I'd rank starter options: Merzlikins, Vejmelka, Gibson, Mrazek

Personally, I'd draft Merzlikins and swing for a rebound season (and more starts).

You count SV%, not SV, so volume guys aren't likely to be a huge help. And Vas isn't going to be out forever. I'd grab MAF.

Unable to leave rep, however thank you for your input. Levi was a keeper for another GM.

Everyone seems to be staying away from the LA goalies because they're a tire fire, but that team is rather good. I'd grab those two.

    Daily starts?

I'd see what teams have the most back to backs for the first 2 months, and look there.
Is Campbell out there to secure EDM? He's an option.
For safe start quantity I like Elvis & Vejmelka.
Taking a shot at a starter, I like somebody from Buffalo (with a pivot if you guess wrong). Hofer is a longer shot.
Solid backups to me would be Forsberg ( chance he steals job), Varlamov (backup unless injury)

Yes Daily starts. I grabbed Elvis before I was left with nothing. I have 3 pick’s remaining. As soon as our draft has concluded I can move Vasilevskiy to I/R+ and pick up someone else. Then I can make a decision early which one to hold onto.
