    Default Backup for Vasi

I just saw the news that Vasilevskiy is out for at least two months for back surgery.

Currently I don’t have a backup, but there are some free agent options available. How would you rank these goalies? This season only

    Merzlikins
    Hart
    Grubauer
    Vejmelka
    Talbot
    Campbell
    Copley
    Blackwood
    Schmid
    M. Jones

I will be grabbing one for sure, maybe even drop another bench forward and grab two until Vasi returns

    Goalie Points
    W=4, S= 0.14, GA=-1, OvertimeW=1, ShootOutW =1, ShutOut=2

Pretty weak list, but you already know that. Elvis and Grubauer stand out the most. Vej possibly if Zona is better but still lets up a lot of shots.

it'd take a gamble on Campbell. he has the contract to be a starter, plus he's on McJesus team so might get some wins along the way, he will get first dip as starter this season in my opinion.

second would be Merzilikins/Grubauer just because they'll most likely be the starter for their teams at start of season.

I'm interested in the Kings tandem of Talbot and Copley. Or maybe cobbling something together with Schmid and Grubauer or Vejmelka.

Grubauer, Hart, Vejmelka, & Elvis look like their teams starters. Hart/Vejmelka could be moved, and even possibly to Tampa. The other two are too expensive for that. Your format seems to want volume.

The Kings tandem is an option to lock up starts.

I'd like Schmid if you have rate stats.

Blackwood & Jones are avoids for me.

Do you have another goalie right now?

I think both Grubauer and Merzlikins have big bounce back years. And I like Grubauer better as he’ll be a workhorse - Seattle has least b2bs in the NHL.

I just traded for Vasilevsky before the news came out, and scrambled another trade to acquire Grubauer.

Im with MD26, I'd be looking at the LA Kings tandem. Other than that, the only one I'd be tempted to get is Grubs.

The problem with the LA tandem is that we only start one goalie weekly, so then you play the guessing game. My best bet I think would be probably Grubaeur or Merlzikins who I should be the clear starter

That is a tough wrinkle but I'm not sure any of the other options are really going to be that much consistent for starts/wins.

With weekly starts, give me Grubauer... or stream goalies.

Am always expecting Carter Hart to break out and have a huge season. Then again, I don't like drafting goalies in general since I never pick good ones lol.

Update for anyone interested. I grabbed Grubauer, and then someone dropped Swayman so I grabbed him too. Going to run with those two until Vasilevskiy returns

I'm inclined to agree. Campbell sucked bad last year and still went 21-9-4. His GAA and SV% were putrid but he won way more than he lost.

I'm expecting a bounce back year from him to be honest
