Andrei Vasilevskiy Out 8-10 Weeks
He will be out 8-10 weeks (November/December) after undergoing back surgery.
The exact surgery is a microdiscectomy on a lumbar back herniation. It is a procedure for the relief of pain and other symptoms that occur when a herniated disc in the spine presses on an adjacent nerve root. The surgeon frees the nerve by removing small fragments of disc, bone and ligament.

That would put him at missing 20-30 games.
If he's missing 20-30 games, and he typically starts 60games/season, that means he'll be at 38-45games. If he wins 55-60% of games he's at 21-27wins.
He was practicing 2 days ago with the "non-game group" on a game day. Wonder what happened.

This opens up a whole lot of interesting options. A contender needs a goalie to get them through the first part of the season, but not a guy to replace their incumbent.
Will need to cheap and signed shorter term.

And Alnfelt is not likely the backup either, there's another guy that got kept up: Matt Tompkins. I don't think he's really the long-term backup, but would it be as insane as some other things we've seen?

And there's also likely a goalie to be grabbed off waivers at some point. Too many goalies with a track record teams will be hoping to sneak through. The only catch is if other teams try and block Tampa.
