Dobber Top 10!!! Week 1 - Movies

^Nice.
I fell in love with most of the Studio Ghibli films about 5-10 years ago.
I probably watch 3-4 every year still.
I'd say they are on par with most Disney stuff - just not "Western"-style animation.
Bigger on the feelings they generate - for me.

That one is probably the most underrated.

The story, the score, the animation and even the dubbed version are all perfect in my opinion!

I have not notice many hockey movies listed in any of these lists.
And being a hockey community, there easily could have been some bias in picking hockey movies.

I guess what that equates to is that there need to be someone make a really really really good hockey movie.
(IF only it was that easy eh)

Yeah... both Miracle and Slapshot were awesome movies for the hockey community.
Slapshot is probably a top50 movie for me. I watch that every couple years.
I enjoyed Miracle... but I have no desire to watch it again.
[Goon was a solid movie for the low-end $$$ likely allocated to it. If I was getting drunk with some old hockey buddies - that'd be my 2nd preference if people didn't want to watch Slapshot]

The quality of actors and productions for hockey movies pales to what big budget movies have offered.

USA doesn't have a huge love for hockey, so not too surprising that there are not a lot of hockey movies.

This makes a tonne of sense... The USA market is what drives this.... and hockey is inferior to most Americans... good call doulos.

They're just a far cry from the best movies of all time or top movies I've ever seen. Slapshot/Mighty Ducks/Miracle - a far, far cry from Full Metal Jacket or Fight Club.

Pretty much this.
The movies on my list have been rewatched lots (for me) of times. While I may have re-watched Mighty Ducks just as much, it's more due to the nostalgia of it.

Maybe a top 20, but not a top 10.
