Yahoo Fantasy Hockey 2023-2024

Dam that is a major cut back. They most certainly will add to that, but this is great. Will give those with dual eligibility lots of extra value in some leagues

Looks like in top100 players only two players are dual:
Jack Hughes C/LW
JT Miller C/RW

They've got some positions pretty wrong - especially having Adrian Kempe at C. Ooof.
But good that they started MOST guys with single eligibility. Big improvement from previous years.

Thats weird. He played like 5-10 games at C and rest at wing or am I mistaken? And he haven't played C the other seasons either. Hopefully they will make him dual before the start of the season.

Looks like the positions are simply D, F, and G now. Maybe they’re revamping the forwards positions.

I’m loving how few players have dual eligibility going into this year. It’s been ridiculous the last few years. Dual eligibility used to be such a great value boost but it seems like they’ve been handing out like Halloween candy in recent seasons. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for 23/24

I retract this comment. I love the single eligibility but the amount of wingers listed as pure Cs seems way off. Just completed my first mock draft and the C depth is insane compared to the wings

I have almost nailed down my first "PERFECT" projected standings Yahoo! mock.
Just scored 97/100pts.

10-team league, you have to draft 2nd... and take Pastrnak (RW, Yahoo3).
[Rest of the room has to be all AutodraftBots]
Sorokin(2), Oettinger(3), Saros(7) locks up perfect 40/40 in goalie points.
Sorokin/Oettinger are ONLY available at 19/22 spots exactly. Then Saros later.

Just got to dance a bit in skater cats:
G 355: 10/10 (355, 354, 354, 352, 351, 349) so this is super close. Absolutely cannot mess with goal distribution. (Late draft, better fine tune try... start with Reinhart at end of draft - need 32G, though.)
A 587: 10/10 (587, 582, 580...)
+/- 185: 10/10 (185, 177...)
PPP 313: 9/10 (317, 313, 308...)
SOG 2858: 8/10 (2941, 2892, 2858, 2856...) Need 84 more SOG... oooof
HIT: 1170: 10/10 (1170... 1104... could sacrifice some of these)

Skaters to fine-tune stats on:

Jordan Kyrou? My limited keeper league is all messed up Svechnikov, Kyrou, Lindholm, and JT Miller all had LW eligibility IIRC and none of them qualify as of now. I need 2 LW keepers.

They did, they announced last year that they would be removing it. Honestly, the group chat feature on the app is amazing for chatting with your fellow GMs. But the message board still had its place particularly for keeping threads on certain topics like potential rule changes, etc.

Yes Kyrou was the main one that jumped out to me too! 5 FWs last season and is listed as pure C. Meanwhile Timmy Stutzle has over 400 FWs and is a LW.

If your league requires positional designation between F keepers, maybe it should be based on the eligibility as of the end of the previous season. Or just allow people to keep 6F instead of 2 at each position.

Crap. They had it for a day and then removed it. The message board had a good purpose and I don't see why they had to remove it, unless it was to force people into their app... I wonder if they'll reverse the decision if enough people complain about it?
edit: maybe it's time to move over to Fantrax instead.
