Default COL stack, or drop Francouz to keep Elvis?

Goalies - Georgiev, Francouz, Binnington, Elvis
12 team league with some G streaming potential still (Quick-waivers, Petersen, Grub, Skinner, Raanta available)
Top owners to beat have 3 decent starters each

    Options -
    1. carry 4 goalies (dominates W/SVS at cost of skater cats) - only 1 other owner has 4
    2. drop Elvis (keeps COL stack, but having only 2 starters/1 backup hurts W/SVS)
    3. drop Francouz - (breaks up COL stack)

    Thoughts?

I would not drop the COL stack. It very easily could leave you with just their back up (or only 50% of their starts). It’s not clear who the #1 guy will be, or if it will be largely a time share all season.

So it’s down to choice 1 or 2. To me, it depends on who you’d be picking up if you drop Elvis (or Binnington…if you’re going to drop a guy, I’d consider him over Elvis).

I wouldn’t worry about what other GM’s in your league do. If you’re the only one carrying 4 goalies, who cares what the rest do? Look at your team and see where it’s weak and assess if / how dropping one of your G helps with that weakness. It would be helpful to know what FA’s you’d be considering to pick up.

Also, Because COL is a time share, you’re also effectively carrying 3 starters. So without a compelling pick up, go dominate the goalie categories.

I wouldn't drop any of your 4 goalies. I'd look to trade Elvis or Binnington before dropping anyone.

With regard to the Colorado goalies, Francouz has been left out to dry by his team, especially vs Seattle where the shots were 37 or 38 (SEA) to 20 (COL). Georgiev isn't playing particularly well so I'd hold both.

Colorado started slow last season, I'd expect them to improve through November and December.

    League in sig?
10 skater cats compared to just 4 goalie (where one is shutouts)
    With 2C | 2RW | 2LW | 1W | 1F | 4D | 1 UTIL positions to fill...

I am FOR SURE cutting to just 3 goalies. This doesn't necessarily need to be done quickly though - especially if your keeping in playoff spot.

Those goalies must hold some trade value. I'd be exploring trying to trade one for a skater upgrade.

Like others, I'd look to trade one of your starters.

If you can do a 2 for 1 to upgrade a skater, that would be ideal, but just getting a better skater than you can find on the wire would be good enough.

Thanks for the great feedback. I'll be patient with the COL stack and enjoy the G categories domination for a while. I'll also seek the trade route if I can find a good opportunity, but no panic to cut down to 3 G's.

Our league doesn't trade much, so FA's are easiest (available - O'Reilly, Benn, Paul, Copp, Bunting, Keller, Batherson, Stone, Stromes, Rakell, Krejci, Chytil, Niederreiter, Durzi, Ghost, Orlov).

Lacking in G/A/FOW (already have 4 C's though); leading in H/BLK/PIM/SOG. But that's for a different forum!

From the list of available free agents, I would not drop any of your goalies for them. It might be worth considering Stone or Batherson to swap out for Jeannot, Meier or your 6th defenseman.
