    Default Waiver Wire Options

Just had our leagues' draft last weekend (team in signature). Our goaltending setup favours volume, and you pretty much need 4 goalies to complete. So with my last pick of the draft, I went with Brossoit. I grabbed him because he played for a good team in Vegas, has a strong schedule (good for off-days), and while he is the clear back-up to Lehner, Lehner has only played more than 50 games twice in his 10+year NHL career. So I am betting on Brossoit getting more starts than he used to get behind Hellebuyck.

However, it was also my last pick of the draft, and I could have gone a few different ways. Throwing it out there for opinion. Was Brossoit the right choice, or should I swap him for someone off of waivers before the season starts? Options include:

    Koskinen
    Gustavsson
    Greiss
    Husso
    Bernier
    Anderson
    Hutton
    Holtby
    Rask

Appreciate any thoughts and arguments either way!

Nah I think Brossoit is your best bet. If Rask comes back at the beginning of next year then he would probably be the best option but since your setup favours volume as you say then you can't be stashing him for so long doing nothing.
    Keep 3 League, 14 team H2H, Roster: 6F, 4D, 4BN, 2G
Cats: G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, PIM, HITS, BLKS, W, GAA, SA, SV%

    G: Oettinger, Talbot, Swayman

    One Year League, 10 Team H2H, Roster: 2C, 2LW, 2RW, W, F, 4D, UTIL, 5BN, 2G
Cats: G, A, PPP, SHP, SOG, SH%, PIM, HITS, BLKS W, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO

I'm a big fan of Brossoit w/VGK this year.
Strong team and Lehner, as we know, could fall apart at any second... mentally or physically.

Keep an eye on Bernier & NJ though...
NJ could be a deceptively strong team - especially with what Holtz & Mercer are adding to their output.
I think we consider that team to be Blackwood's... but if NJ feels "off rhythm" from Blackwood's COVID stance... they might roll with Bernier.
[On the flip-side, the "playing in Canada" isn't a concern for NJ until MARCH. March 15, 16, 19, 23. They have spot games in Winnipeg on Dec3 (B2B after @MIN), then Montreal on Jan15. No big flow though.)

Bernier never really had much chance playing on shitty DET teams.
This NJ team is way stronger than anything he's played with over last 3+ seasons.

I see the upside in Brossoit, but I would go Bernier. They gave him a lot of money to reduce Blackwoods workload.

I like the Brossoit move, unless you have an IR spot. Then I would've gone Rask, and replaced him with Brossoit.

Gustavsson and Bernier could be good for reasonable volume.

We are a Yahoo! league. We have 2 x IR+ spots, and I have one available. Having said that, Rask is listed as "NA", likely because he isn't actually signed to a contract at the moment. I don't believe NA qualifies for IR+? So I could take Rask now, but would have a dead roster spot waiting for when/if he returns.

Otherwise, I've thought heavily about Bernier. I think NJ will be a much improved team, and vaccination status notwithstanding, I still have doubts about Blackwood's ability to be a true #1 guy. Bernier could end up a starter, or at least a true 1A/B option.

Ah, if he doesn't qualify, then don't touch him. I don't play on Yahoo.
