    Demko:

    1) We saw how great of goalie he can be in the playoffs last year.
    2) I life the young core of Vancouver and think their Defense will get better.
    3) Holtby was just a stop gap and will be gone to Seattle.

Yeah I'm in agreement here. After Talbot's deal is done it'll me a much closer run thing.

Demko, as Holtby is probably gone from Vancouver after this year, even if not taken by Seattle. It just hasn't worked.

I'll go with Kahkonen. Stronger D and better team D, and while there's no EP or Hughes, Minnesota has a good young core of Fiala, Karpizov, Greenway, Eriksson Ek with Boldy and Rossi on the way.

So Kahkonen is the clear starter in the next 2-3 years?

I think Demko but not until 22-23. Holtby may be a stop gap but his contract is too high and he's not performed all that well - even though, neither has Demko really (its hard to blame either of them really given the lack of any defense happening in Vancouver).

I really say 22-23 because Vancouver only has 5 players currently signed through 22-23 roster year (Horvat, JT Miller, Hoglander, Myers and Schmidt). In 22-23 Eriksson and even Luongo's recapture penalty comes off the books. They will have to pay Pettersson, and Hughes (and maybe give Boeser more) but they won't have an anchor around their necks anymore.

This is the Vancouver get out of jail free card year and I'd have to guess/hope they don't screw it up again.

    Demko by a large margin.

One of them will be an NHL starter possibly as soon as later this year.

The other one will likely not be in the NHL next year.
