With a depleted team around him in a shortened season, is now possibly the time to sell him while he is still considered an elite asset ?
Aside from his shooting volume he doesn't offer any peripherals (for multi-cat), and if he doesn't produce 90+ point pace this year, I feel like the return will be far less next offseason. I love Patty Kane, but he's not getting any younger either...
If you were to sell, what would you need?
60pt player plus top 20 prospect?
Blades of Steel
9 Team Full Keeper - Pts Only (G,A,W,SO)
Crosby, Wheeler, Bergeron, Forsberg, Connor, Kopitar, E.Lindholm, Pastrnak, DeBrincat, Fiala
Jones, Klingberg, Hamilton, Theodore, Letang
Saros, Shesterkin
Garland, Vrana, Bjorkstrand, Verhaege, Backstrom, Karlsson, Perunovich, Spurgeon, Pulock, Hellebuyck
I moved him recently for Seguin, Boldy and a pick that became Valimaki.
I'm contending, but I have a strong team - could compete without him I wager, and at the same time restock my farm
You really think 3 more years?? That sounds nice, but I see a Kessel-like decline possible... I know they are different tiers, but again... once he does decline, I'll be stuck
FWIW, I had a GM offer me Hayton or Glass + Arvidsson... I declined... asked for Tomasino be added... no go
G A PTS SOG HTS BLKS FOW, multi-cat league
Kane is a driver, Phil is a passenger. Kane is only 31/32 and hasn't played a grinding carrer nor had injury issues. Chicago has some good enough young pieces that he'll have help.
I'm not saying don't trade him, but if there's no cap in your league than Kane should be worth alot. Glass is a nice piece but Arvidsson isn't strong enough for me to deal Kane.
My instinct is now is the time to buy Kane. This year is a shit show anyways, so I'm discounting all the Chicago injuries for this year.
